Mike Kline Course of Excellence PLEDGE SECURED....

Thank you to the Volkman Family โœ…

โ€œFrom the moment we arrived at UWGB, Coach Kline made us feel like people first, not simply numbers on a roster. A devoted family man himself, Coach has always understood that success on the course is only part of the story. He invested in every part of our lives, encouraging us academically, supporting our athletic goals, and guiding us through the personal challenges that come with growing into adulthood. Even years after leaving UWGB, we know we can pick up the phone and call Coach anytimeโ€”yes, even at 2:30 in the morningโ€”and he will answer. That kind of lasting relationship is rare and speaks to the genuine investment he makes in the lives of his athletes.

Through his example, we learned what it means to compete with heart, to lead with character, work hard without seeking recognition, and value people above results. The opportunities and experiences he and the UWGB Cross Country program gave us continue to shape who we are.

That same commitment is visible in the Mike Kline Course of Excellence. During the courseโ€™s earliest stages, he devoted countless hours to walking the property, removing rocks and sticks and mowing waist-high grass so our team could run routes. He did not simply coach from the sidelines; he labored alongside others, excavating, seeding, and watering the course with his own hands. Not many coaches can say they helped build the very course on which their athletes would train and compete.

The Mike Kline Course of Excellence is more than a cross-country course. It is a lasting part of Coach Klineโ€™s legacyโ€”a place where future generations of student-athletes will grow in confidence, discipline, character, and perseverance, becoming the best versions of themselves both on and off the course.โ€
