Ever wonder why the rough at Pokegama was a little extra rough this summer? 😉

It was intentional! During the hottest, driest part of the season, we raised the mowing height to help shade the soil, preserve moisture and protect the turf from heat and drought stress. Taller grass also allowed us to mow less frequently, reducing additional stress on the turf.

Now that the summer heat has eased, we’ve lowered the rough back down.

So if you spent a little extra time searching for golf balls this summer, just know it was for a good cause. 😂🌱

Healthy turf now helps set us up for a great course next season!

🏆 2026 Woodland Bank Grand Slam is in the books! ⛳

What a great day of golf at Pokegama! Teams battled through three rounds and three formats at Pokegama & Eagle Ridge Golf Course. They played a Scramble, Better Ball and Chapman — to crown this year’s flight champions.

A big thank you to Woodland Bank for supporting this event and to everyone who came out and competed. Another Grand Slam in the books, we already can’t wait for the next one!
