This one has taken us a few days to put into words.
To everyone who raced Michigan Titanium this year, thank you. And to every athlete who took on the Ultra, especially those who crossed that line late into the night, thank you for trusting us with something that asked so damn much of you.
As you all know, we’ve made the tough call to put the Michigan Titanium Ultra on the shelf for a while. We don’t know when, or if, it’ll return. That’s a hard thing to say. For fifteen years, this race and this distance have meant a hell of a lot to people. Titanium grew into the country’s largest independent ultra-distance triathlon for many years. We got to host USA Triathlon Ultra-Distance National Championships, welcome athletes from across the country, and watch thousands do things they once thought were impossible. Long-distance racing’s changed, especially for independent non-branded events. We're proud of how long we held on, and even more proud of the race experience we delivered for the athletes who chose to stand on that start line.
From our staff, volunteers, partners, and everyone who poured themselves into MiTi, thank you to every Ultra athlete who raced with us this year, and every athlete who raced this distance over the fourteen years before it. You made this race what it became. Titanium isn’t going away. We’re excited to bring Sprint, Olympic, and Half-distance racing back in 2027, and next year’s date is coming soon.
For now, grateful feels right. For the finish-line lights. For the long nights. For the folks who refused to quit. For every volunteer who stayed till the last athlete was safely to the finish. Thank you for racing with us.
Onward and upward,
Jon and John & the Tris4Health Team

After a big MiTi weekend, give yourself a little grace and pay attention to how you feel.
Dr. K explains why stopping for help when something feels off is a smart call, not a sign that you have failed. Most athletes who visit medical support can keep moving safely. And after race day, the same principle holds: listen to your body early.
University of Michigan Health-West Sports Medicine is the official medical provider of MiTi and ultra-distance core sponsor.
