🐴 Meet Our Judge: David J. Denniston!

GJHSA is pleased to welcome David J. Denniston as the judge for the Summer Sign Off Show, September 12-13!

David brings more than 35 years of horse-industry experience and 24 years of judging to the show ring. He holds judges' cards with APHA, AQHA, and NSBA.

After growing up showing horses, David worked with youth riders competing with Paint and Quarter Horses while attending college. His early decision to make horses his life's work led to a career combining his passion for horses with his love of teaching. Today, he is an Associate Professor in the Equine Sciences program at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.

The Grand Junction Horse Show Association is excited to introduce our Youth Incentive Program– a fun and rewarding incentive program designed to encourage our young equestrians (ages 18 and under) to participate more actively in our shows throughout the year. The goal is to build confidence, improve skills, foster friendships, and increase overall involvement in the horse show community. By tracking participation and achievements, we will recognize and reward dedicated youth at our end-of-year awards banquet. **ENROLLMENT DEADLINE AUGUST 31st**

🎉 That’s a Wrap on the GJHSA August Spectacular! 🎉

What an incredible weekend! A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out and supported the GJHSA August Spectacular. Despite the heat, it was a fun, successful, and exceptionally well-run show—and that is truly a team effort!

👏 Special thanks to our amazing volunteers, GJHSA Board Members, and the Mesa County Fairgrounds staff for all the hard work behind the scenes and throughout the weekend. Your dedication, long hours, and willingness to jump in wherever needed are what make these shows possible. We appreciate you more than you know!

🏆 Congratulations to all of our exhibitors! You showed up, worked hard, supported one another, and put on a fantastic show. Your sportsmanship, horsemanship, and positive attitudes made the weekend so much fun. We are proud of every one of you!
