Could not ask for better supporters of GB Golf over the past 20+ years. Congrats Jenn and Doug and thank you for all you do for golf and for Grand Blanc. We are all truly blessed to have both of you and all members at Warwick Hills! Go Bobcats!
The heart of any Club is its people, members and staff. Two staff members who really make our Club feel like home are our Head Golf Professional, Doug Brody and his wife, Golf Instructor & Merchandiser, Jenn.
We are proud to share that Doug and Jenn were recently honored with the Don Jarrard Award by the Genesee Allstar Classic. This award recognizes their outstanding dedication, generosity, and lasting impact on our community. Doug and Jenn embody the spirit of our Club through their kindness, leadership, and unwavering commitment to others.
For more than 20 years, Doug and Jenn have made a lasting impact on the game of golf through their passion, leadership, and commitment to others. Together, they have created engaging programs that welcome golfers of every skill level, fostering a love for the game across generations. Their dedication extends far beyond the golf shop. They have supported countless amateur and professional tournaments, contributed to numerous local charities and built a thriving caddie program that has produced 24 Evans Scholars—creating life-changing educational opportunities for young people.
Doug's golf journey began when he competed in the Flint Junior Golf Association while attending Linden High School. After graduating in 1989, he turned his passion into a profession by enrolling in the Professional Golf Management Program at Ferris State University, earning his degree in 1995. He became a PGA Class A Professional in 1997 and began his career as Head Golf Professional at Walnut Hills Country Club in East Lansing in 1998 before joining Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club in 2005. Since arriving at Warwick Hills, Doug has played an integral role in some of Michigan's premier professional golf events. He served as Host Professional for the PGA TOUR's Buick Open from 2005–2009 and has continued that tradition as Host Professional for the PGA TOUR Champions Ally Challenge presented by McLaren, since its inception in 2018. Doug was named Michigan PGA Merchandiser of the Year in both 2014 and 2019, and in 2024 received the organization's highest honor as Michigan PGA Golf Professional of the Year.
Jenn (Kangas) Brody is a 1991 graduate of L'Anse High School, where she established herself as one of Michigan's premier young golfers. She continued her standout career at Michigan State University, earning All-Big Ten honors and serving as team captain for two seasons. Following a successful collegiate career, Jenn captured the Michigan Open Championship in 1996 before advancing to the professional ranks. She competed on the LPGA Epson Tour beginning in 1997 and earned full-time LPGA Tour status in 1998. She continued competing on the Epson Tour through 2003, representing Michigan with skill, determination, and professionalism. Jenn's contributions to the game have been recognized as was inducted into the Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame in 2020 and, in 2022, was inducted into the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame—an enduring testament to her exceptional playing career and lasting impact on golf in Michigan.
While Doug and Jenn have achieved remarkable success throughout their careers, and are most proud of the accomplishments of their children, Kate and Tyler. Watching them develop a love for the game and achieve success of their own, including both children capturing a 2018 PGA Junior League State Championship, has been their greatest reward.
Please join us in congratulating them on this well-deserved recognition!
