⚽️💙 OPENING DAY IS IN THE BOOKS! 💙⚽️

What an AMAZING start to our Fall Soccer season at the Hood County YMCA! 🎉

Between checking in teams, helping coaches, handing out jerseys, answering questions, and keeping everything moving, today was BUSY in the best possible way. That also means we didn’t get nearly as many pictures as we would have liked! 📸😂

So now we need YOUR help!

👇 Soccer families, drop your Opening Day photos in the comments! We want to see those team pics, action shots, big smiles, post-game celebrations, proud coach moments, and everything in between!

A huge THANK YOU to our coaches, officials, volunteers, families, YMCA staff, and especially our players for making Opening Day such a great one. 💙

One Saturday down and a whole season of soccer memories ahead! ⚽️🙌

Today, we had the privilege of hosting a memorial to honor Johnny Henard, a true pillar of our Y family.

Johnny loved Jesus, the Y, donuts, a good deal, and sitting around with these guys telling stories. And if you know this group, you know there are A LOT of stories.

These pictures don’t begin to capture everyone who came to remember Johnny, laugh together, and share those stories. Seeing so many people gathered was such a beautiful reminder that a life isn’t measured by the things we have, but by the people we leave better because we were here.

Johnny did that.

What a legacy to leave behind—to be remembered not only for the things you loved, but for the lives you touched, the friendships you built, and the joy you brought to others. Johnny’s legacy will continue through the stories we share, the laughter he inspired, and the kindness he showed to so many.

We were blessed to have him as part of our Y family. He brought something special to this place simply by being here.

Our Y is better because he walked through our doors, and we are better because we got to know and love him. We are so thankful the Y got to be a part of your story.

This isn’t goodbye. It’s just see you later. 🤍
