One of the most empowering things we do for kids is assign them the position of teacher.

We do this for MANY reasons - one being, it's THE best way to understand something to its fullest. You simply have to teach it.

This instills great confidence as well!

And that's what horses do.

They teach you to overcome and to persevere - then to LEAD.

Stepping out. Stepping up. It's what we learn to do.
And what a blessing it is to assist in the creation and development of our future leaders!

Groundwork isn’t just for the horses!

We spend lots of time before we ever get on the horse talking about and learning proper positioning – because what so many people don’t know is that all the instinctual movements of our bodies typically go directly against proper riding.

So, in order to stay safe on a horse and truly learn to ride with your seat, we take the time to understand more deeply the anatomy of both human and horse – and we talk about it often, and with questions like:

How do our bodies naturally move?
Where does our control come from?
How is everything connected?
What does your horse feel based on your body language and movements?
How do you find those necessary seat bones?!

Practicing these things while off the horse allows us to be super focused, and we often discover bad habits and/or new abilities that totally alter our ride!

And, the kids love this opportunity for questioning and critique. We’ve all developed that determination – to be better – welcoming the chance for improvement no matter the method!

Meet Mitch!
He belongs to one of our veteran students, Abbie.
He’s a perfect example of what happens when you show up here consistently and work hard.
Eventually, you acquire the experience and the skills necessary to have one of your own!

Abbie will not only care for and ride this horse, but she will continue to grow with this horse - acquiring new training techniques and building a new partnership, while learning to manage Mitch’s young energy and “vibrant” personality.

It’s a new challenge – and a stellar reward for all the hard work she’s done.💪

And what an incredible reward it is for us as well!
We get to witness the milestone and see her to the next level, walking with her every step of the way.

That’s the beautiful thing about horses.
There’s always more to learn, another avenue of greatness to achieve, another challenge to be met – and a level of excellency and reward you can’t find anywhere else.

First day back and these kids are READY!
We took time today to set some goals, and these kids are anticipating a season of incredible growth and achievement!

We not only set riding goals. We set character goals as well!
Some students are working on becoming more confident and assertive.
Others are working on work ethic and taking initiative.
And we’re ALL working to grow deeper in our faith and develop TRUE horsemanship.

This is what’s truly amazing about our program, and about horses in general. They teach you – the complete person – from physical strength and ability, to mental and emotional soundness and understanding.

And our program in particular does this SO WELL. (Thank you, Ms. Cyndi!)

Watching kids overcome obstacles, meet their goals, and find love and passion for life is the most rewarding part of what we do – and we simply can’t wait to witness more of it this season.

The opportunities here are ENDLESS!

We're not your typical riding school.
Our students become true working members of our farm!🙌

Daily chores.
Expanded training opportunities.
Farm projects.
Frequent participation in animal and vet care.
Play days.
Small group lessons.

This is just a SHORT list of all the amazing components of our program!💥

And what a blessing it is to teach these young folk not only how to become excellent riders, but to become excellent people.

Strong work ethic.
Assertiveness.
Responsibility.
Independence.
Confidence.

These are only a few of the attributes we see our students acquire.
And we simply love what we do!🫶🐴💜

Homeschool groups, weekly lessons, camp days... We're gearing up for a GREAT year!!

The kids here at Jubilee learn to be leaders, acquiring essential skills and a unique level of confidence and independence that's necessary for success in ALL places.

Truly, the changes we've seen in our students over the last several years has been nothing short of amazing - and we're so blessed to serve kids and families in this way!
