📣 AMA Parents & Students – A Message About Practice & Progress
Today in class, we talked about something incredibly important for every martial artist: repetition and consistent practice at home.
Unlike my previous school, where we trained six days a week, our current schedule means students must take more ownership of their training outside the dojang. To help them build discipline and balance, I introduced a new Martial Arts Homework system:

👉 Whatever amount of screen time they use — video games, YouTube, shows — they must match with the same amount of martial arts practice. If they play for 15 minutes, they owe themselves 15 minutes of focused practice.
This isn’t about punishment. It’s about building healthy habits, responsibility, and the repetition needed to truly grow in their techniques.

đź’Ş All of our students are improving, and with new students joining regularly, I will be expecting more and more from our higher ranks. Leadership starts with strong habits at home.
Parents, we kindly ask for your support in making sure students don’t rush through their practice. Quality matters. Repetition matters. Their student manuals are there to guide them — please encourage them to study and use them.

St. Augustine, FL-Nunez Tournament Highlights: The competition floor is where preparation meets pressure, and hard work meets opportunity!

Our Academy of Martial Arts students stepped up, challenged themselves, and pushed beyond their comfort zones. Every kick, every pattern, every sparring match, and every moment on the floor was an opportunity to grow, learn, and become better than they were yesterday.

But what makes AMA special isn’t just the medals…
It’s the way we encourage one another, push one another, and refuse to let each other quit!

We challenge our students to go beyond what they think they can do, try to dig deeper, stay disciplined, and discover just how much they’re capable of.

Your biggest competition is YOU.
Push your limits. Trust your training. Embrace the challenge. And when you fall short, get back up and try again.

This is more than Taekwondo.
This is confidence. Discipline. Perseverance. Respect. Growth.

Gratitude to all the coaches, teachers, and brothers who came together to make this event so meaningful. For both my competitors and myself, events like this are about so much more than bringing home medals—they are invaluable opportunities to learn, adapt, and grow.
A special thank you to:

• Sabuin Chris Poteet ( Martial Arts) for taking the time out to teach.
• Master Titus ( TKD) for the valuable input and encouraging words to my competitors.
• Sabuin Montero and the many others who poured their energy into the event.
Thank you to ITF America for providing a platform where we can share our martial art and diverse teaching styles, pushing us to become better individuals not just in sport, but in life.
Sharing these experiences and watching our team grow is easily one of the best perks of being the Chief Instructor at the Academy of Martial Arts! 🙏 Dynamic action, incredible camaraderie, and lifelong lessons. See you all at the next one!
