I think we put way too much pressure on ourselves to always want it. Some days you’re gonna be locked in. Some days you’re gonna be tired, pi**ed off, unmotivated, and wondering why the hell you’re even doing this. That doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re human.

The goal isn’t to never have those days. It’s to stop letting those days turn into weeks, months, or years. You don’t need to feel motivated today. Just give yourself a reason to keep moving.

I spent a lot of time thinking I needed some crazy answer or some perfect plan to change my life. Turns out I just had to find a way that actually worked for me and keep doing it.

Simple doesn’t mean easy. It just means I finally stopped making it harder than it needed to be.

You can really want the end result and still hate the process sometimes. I think that’s a hard thing to admit when everybody expects you to be excited because you’re losing weight.

Like yeah, I’m grateful I’m capable of doing this. But am I tired of tracking my food sometimes? Absolutely. Am I tired of getting on the scale and letting a number determine whether I feel like I had a good week? Yep. Am I tired of having to remind myself that this is going to take a long ass time? Also yes.

I don’t think being tired means you don’t want it bad enough. Sometimes you just get tired because you’ve been fighting for something for a long fu***ng time.

Being tired doesn’t mean you’re giving up. It means you’re tired. There’s a difference.

6 years sober.

I don’t really have a fancy caption for it. I’m just grateful I’m still here, and that I get to live the life I used to think I wasn’t capable of.

We do recover. 7/25/2020

There’s something about a cabin in the North Georgia mountains with nothing but the sound of rain and a river flowing. 🀌🏻

Two years ago I stepped on stage at Summer Shredding Community and shared my story out loud for the first time.

I was terrified to be seen, but that moment taught me how powerful it can be to stop hidingπŸ™πŸ»

I spent a lot of years wishing I could go back and do things differently.

I don’t anymore.

I can acknowledge that I fu**ed up without being ashamed of the person I was. I didn’t know how to deal with life back then, so I escaped it. But I learned how to face it. And I built a life that the old me probably never thought he’d get to have.
