Father-To-Son: Training my son in the Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) after his Boxing session with me at the gym.

This drill has its roots in armed, battlefield combat in the Philippines. It is also beneficial for teaching hand speed, hand-eye coordination, and calming the mind. The BOSU ball adds a different level of difficulty and supercharges the nervous system.

While it is my goal to raise my sons to be Protectors, it’s also my goal to have a close bond with them. The πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ Martial Arts were the gateway to empowering myself as a young man through my Filipino heritage. I want pass that onto my sons as well.

When I was a teen, I heard that the legendary Filipino Martial Arts teacher, Dan Inosanto, trained the in πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ Martial Arts to improve their hand speed, coordination, and athleticism back in the 80s.

I was recently asked by to train a young Defensive End in martial arts to help support his football skills. This young man picked it up quick.

Using a dull aluminum training knife, this drill forces the utmost focus, coordination, timing, and hand speed needed to protect the Quarterback.

Thanks to the guys at BP Performance for the opportunity to train this young athlete!

We don’t only teach πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ Martial Arts.

Rather, we teach an πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ approach to the πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ martial arts.

We love tradition.

But we also recognize context.

In this video, we discuss this.
