The 2026 US Open Pool Championship brought 256 players from 40+ countries to town, and it closed out with a champion. Congrats to Spain's Francisco Sánchez Ruiz on the win! 🎱

Today, Matchroom Pool stopped by our office to hand-deliver the official US Open trophy, and Matchroom Pool's CEO, Emily Frazer, got to celebrate the moment with the 2026 champion and our Senior Sports Sales Manager, Chuck Brakes.

We're already counting down to 2027, when the US Open comes back to Frisco. And this year, we'll have this cool piece of hardware to admire!

Dallas Cowboys Training Camp Hits The Star in Frisco – A Sports City USA Midweek Boost

The Cowboys bring free open practices to The Star in Frisco on Tuesday, Aug. 25, and Wednesday, Aug. 26. Tuesday's practice runs at 6:00 p.m. at Ford Center, followed by a tailgate and drone show on Tostitos Championship Plaza. Wednesday is Cowboys Night with another open practice and ceremonies.

For Sports City USA, it's a major economic impact for our city. Thousands of fans pack The Star in Frisco’s restaurants and shops, driving a midweek surge for local businesses. For those wanting the full behind-the-scenes experience, tours of the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters are available year-round, giving fans access to the practice fields, locker room, and the iconic star logo at The Star.

Just this week at the 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, Hezly Rivera, the 2024 U.S. Olympic gymnast who trains at WOGA in Frisco, won her second consecutive U.S. all-around title. That's the kind of greatness that starts right here, on local mats and beams.

Twenty-one years ago today (August 6), the first soccer-specific stadium in the United States opened in a then-growing suburb north of Dallas. At the time, it was a bet on the sport of soccer and on the city of Frisco.
It paid off.

Over the past 25 years, Toyota Stadium (formerly Pizza Hut Park) has generated more than $1.5 billion in economic impact for Frisco - fueling development, attracting various events, and anchoring Frisco as one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. In these 21 years, Toyota Stadium has become home to the National Soccer Hall of Fame, and has hosted dozens of concerts, NCAA Football Championships, College Bowl Games, USWNT matches, and so much more!
Now, a $182 million public-private renovation is underway, adding 3,400 seats and major upgrades to keep the momentum going for this iconic venue.

This is what happens when sports infrastructure is built with long-term vision. The business of sports isn't just about game day. It's about the jobs, tourism, and community growth that come with it.
