Final Round of the Jack and Jill required dancing with the judges. That’s enough to make anyone a little nervous. expresstheprocess and JZ Law, APC refused to let me be nervous. They reminded me that I dance HOW I dance because of WHY I dance: just genuine joy and expression.

I didn’t change a single thing about how i dance socially for the sake of competing and honestly had the best time 💕
•
Even singing my little heart out I could hear the cheers and support and left with another valuable reminder: Dance is communal. Ending the weekend with tired feet and a full heart 🫶🏽

Choreography can be a great tool when working on a specific skill like musicality, for example. Having opportunities to “play” and think on your feet (pun intended) are also crucial. Getting to do both in one class? That’s a win! ☺️
