I am working on making necessary updates to the website.

I have not been able to keep up with creating Facebook posts either.

I will do my best to reenter the area of giving updates on current horses in progress.

I have a Gypsy Vanner with a sad history and attitude problems that are being adjusted.

A paint mare who recently lost her herd leader and is slowly transitioning to her human Mom for leadership role.

Since I lost my wonderful Shadow last September I am transferring Sport to the full time on site horse for beginner & horsemanship training. He is such a goofball and always so nebby.

Borrowed post for everyone who has horses, or is thinking of bringing a horse into their life: A FOREVER HORSE:
Did you know that less than 1% of horses are lucky enough to have a forever home? Horses give unconditional love and loyalty to their owners, the least we can do is commit to them and ensure they never know cruelty, neglect or hardship. When their time comes, whether it be through injury or old age, they deserve a dignified end instead of having to endure the horrors of the slaughterhouse; their last emotions shouldn't be that of fear, panic and terror! The only way to guarantee your once loved horse doesn't end up on a plate is to be satisfied with them no matter what, and commit to them for life.
A FOREVER HORSE:
Before you consider or think about adopting me, realise I am a FOREVER HORSE.
I am not an.... until you get bored or lose interest in me horse.
I am not an.... until your child goes off to college or finds boys instead horse.
I am not an.... until I get old horse.
I am not an.... until I get lame horse.
I am not an.... until you have to move horse.
I am not an.... until you get a new younger horse horse.
I am not an.... until you get pregnant horse.
I am a FOREVER HORSE.
If you cannot promise FOREVER, I am not your horse.
I have been through too much already.

Shadow turns 32 in May 2025. We have been together for 30 years this coming fall.

College taught me the basics of horsemanship and how to be safe around equines.

Shadow taught me so much more:

1. A horse can rear and take you over backwards even if you are laying on his neck.
2. Wearing winter boots to ride is a great way to get your foot stuck in the stirrup, while being kicked in the head and dragged around.
3. Horses can canter backward, while carrying an unwilling rider.
4. A horse can pull all four hooves into a small group under his center, jump straight upward and buck from that position.
5. A horse can jump/climb both up and down a completely vertical slope.
6. When the chips are down and danger is looming, a horse can put his best hoof forward and save the day.
7. A horse wearing shoes can dig in so hard while running, he showers sparks all over the horse & rider behind him.

And so many, many other lessons. I wouldn't be the person I am today without him and 30 years worth of adventures, mistakes, lessons and forgiveness.

We don't go out much anymore, but he hates to be left behind. Every ride, I am always afraid it will be our last.
