When temperatures rise, your body works significantly harder to keep itself cool. Your heart rate climbs faster, your muscles fatigue sooner, and your fluid and electrolyte needs go way up.
This isn't about fitness level. It doesn't matter if you've been doing CrossFit for 6 weeks or 6 years; the heat affects everyone. And ignoring it is how people get hurt.
So this summer we're training SMART. That means scaling down the intensity while your body adjusts, hydrating before you're thirsty, and adding electrolytes to your routine on hot training days. Water is essential, but when you're sweating this much, water alone won't cut it.
