1. Get down to their eye level before you say anything.
2. Name what they're feeling instead of telling them to stop feeling it.
3. Give them one small choice, so they feel back in control.

We use all three on the mat too.

Save this for open house or parent-teacher week.

Sitting quietly isn't the same as paying attention — three signs your child is actually taking it in, not just sitting through it.

1. They can repeat the instruction back in their own words, not just nod.
2. They try it themselves before asking you to do it for them.
3. They catch and correct their own mistake, without being told.

We watch for the same three on the mat.
