Congratulations to my long time student William on his promotion to Blue Belt. William is my first ever student and I’m so proud to see all that he has accomplished. He has been training for over 12 years, moving through all the youth belts before taking a break to focus on school. William graduated from Chaminade High School and is now in his sophomore year at the University of Alabama where he is looking to continue training.

Congratulations 🇺🇸🇵🇪🇩🇴👸🏻🐲 on a great week of wrestling at the NUWAY Summer Nationals!
Kaylin started off with back to back Gold medals 🥇🥇 in Freestyle and Folkstyle going 6-0 between the two styles. Over the next two days she joined team Armbar Militia in the dual meet portion also going 6-0 helping the team to a 🥈🥈 in Freestyle/Folkstyle finish. She was voted Outstanding Wrestler of the team for her effort. So proud of you!
Highlights of at the National Duals last weekend in Nebraska.
Kaylin went 11-1 over two days of wrestling representing team New York. On day 1 she competed in Greco Roman for the first time and went 5-1 with 2 pins and 2 techs. She followed up on day 2 in Freestyle where she went 6-0 3 pins, 1 techs.

Weekend of Youth Jiu Jitsu Promotions!
Congratulations to everyone’s well deserved promotions. I really appreciate seeing the youth students develop, some from a very young age not even being able pronounce Jiu Jitsu to becoming proficient enough to help other students get started.
Some students may stay, some may find other interests, but the skills they learn and memories they make will last a lifetime.

Surprise Summer Adult Jiu Jitsu Promotion
at School of Grappling this week!
Congratulations to everyone on their well deserved promotions! We had 7 belt promotions along with some stripes, including our first 2 Black Belts at School of Grappling.
Jiu Jitsu is so amazing in that you not only get to help others develop in a martial art but you really get to know people on and off the mat. You develop lifelong relationships and leave lasting impressions.
I’m proud of all my students and truly blessed to be able to be a part of everyone’s lives through Jiu Jitsu.

Great competition weekend with my students at Pride Jiu Jitsu tournament! We left with 4 Gold, 5 Silver and 4 bronze medals and the experience of training to get better while making unforgettable memories. I’m always proud of everyone’s efforts and willingness to challenge themselves win or lose but more importantly seeing everyone work together helping each other to succeed.

Congratulations to my students Kaya and Kaylin on their invite to be a part of team New York at the Elementary National Duals in Nebraska next month.
The girls will be wrestling June 6 and 7th in Greco Roman and Freestyle as part of a 15 girl NY team competing against teams comprised of the best girls from other states.
Kaya and Kaylin established themselves as some of the top girls in the state this season after they both won the USA Wrestling Freestyle State Championship and the NYWAY Folkstyle State Championship after a great season and now get to showcase their skill at the National Level.
So proud of you girls, let’s go! 🤼♀️

Learning to become a good teammate in an individual sport. Who better to have in your corner than those that got you there.

State finals
3rd period 0-0
Kaylin was facing a tough opponent who was well prepared for the match. With no score going into the final period her opponent had choice going bottom. Her opponent was quick to get up but Kaylin stayed in control returning her to the mat. With limited time we needed to score. A late escape would give her opponent the win. We locked eyes for a second knowing what we needed to do. I told her to let her opponent go - we needed a takedown to win.
With 30 seconds to go Kaylin let her opponent up giving her the 1-0 lead, and she went right to work. Her first takedown attempt they went out of bounds and with limited time left we once more shared a moment and I reminded her what she came here for. Kaylin shoots again getting the takedown in the final seconds of the match and winning 3-1 to claim her second state championship.
