That knot between your shoulder blades that never goes away? You can stretch it, foam roll it, and hit it with the massage gun all you want. It'll feel great for an hour, then it's right back.
Here's the thing most people never get told: the knot usually isn't the problem.
When your rib cage gets compressed, those ribs stop moving well, and the muscles around them get overworked and tight. Your shoulder blade and neck sit right on top of that rib cage, so they get pulled into it too. The muscle isn't broken. It's just working overtime to cover for a rib cage that's stuck.
That's why the massage gun only gives you temporary relief. It's treating the muscle, not the motion underneath it.
Watch the wall test in the video, then try it at home and see where your arm stops. It usually lines up with right where you get your knots.
Once you know where you're stuck, we can actually do something about it. Book a visit and let's get that rib cage moving again ๐ https://tmitherapy.janeapp.com

You were hitting your 7-iron 165 yards five years ago. Now it's 150.
Your driver, which used to fly 250 on a good day, is barely reaching 225.
You've tried new equipment. You've watched swing videos at 1 a.m. Maybe you've taken a lesson or two. And the distance just keeps creeping away.
Here's what nobody's telling you: ๐ถ๐'๐ ๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐ฎ ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ๐บ. ๐๐'๐ ๐ฎ ๐ฏ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ๐บ.
After 40, four predictable things happen:
โ Your thoracic spine stiffens, flattening your shoulder turn โ Your hips lose internal rotation, forcing early extension โ You lose fast-twitch muscle fiber, killing club head speed โ Your nervous system slows down the firing sequence the downswing demands
The swing faults that show up โ reverse spine angle, early extension, casting from the top โ they aren't habits you picked up. They're your body compensating for what it can't physically do anymore.
The good news: this is fixable. Targeted thoracic and hip work, a focused mobility routine, and power-specific training rebuild what time has been taking. Most golfers see a noticeable change in their backswing turn within a few visits.
Our newest blog breaks down exactly what's happening and what to do about it ๐ [link in first comment]
If you're a Fort Worth golfer ready to stop guessing, book a body-swing assessment at Taylor Made Integrative Therapy. We'll map where your body is holding your game back and build you a plan to get the distance back.

Two squats. Same lifter. Wildly different outcomes.
In the first clip, you'll see what a lot of people are doing in the gym right now โ too much forward lean, hips that never get below the knees, and a low back that's doing all the stabilizing because the core never gets the memo. Squat that way long enough and your hips lock up, your pelvis and spine start to compensate, and your low back lets you know about it.
๐ https://youtu.be/XIn_72ikTo8
In the second clip, three simple changes flip the whole movement: heels elevated on a wedge to free up the ankles, a band around the knees to cue the glutes to push out, and a weight held in front to wake up the core. Now the squat is upright, deep, and stable โ and it's actually building strength instead of dysfunction.
๐ https://youtu.be/3vGvFBuULR8
When you're under load, I want your body moving properly โ not fighting to stabilize. That's how you build real strength, loosen tight hips, and stay out of the injury cycle.
If your squat (or any movement) feels harder than it should, that's worth looking at. Book an initial evaluation at Taylor Made Integrative Therapy in Fort Worth and let's find out what's getting overloaded โ and why.

Golfers: your low back pain may not actually be a โlow back problem.โ
A lot of times, the lower back is just paying the price for poor hip mobility, limited thoracic rotation, or swing mechanics that overload the lumbar spine. Thatโs why the lower back is often the victim, not the culprit.
If you only treat the pain without addressing the movement problem behind it, it usually keeps coming back.
This is why assessing how your body moves is such a big deal.
Read this great TPI article:

Why the Lower Back is Often the Victim, Not the Culprit When golfers experience pain in the lower back, the instinct is often to treat the location of the pain itself. But in many cases the lower back is not the true source of the problem. | Article | TPI
