My mission: To help you become comfortable using a firearm for self protection, sport, or just for f
You can expect instruction from a seasoned instructor who understands that not everyone, ESPECIALLY women, learn the same way. I take great pride in helping my students learn the best way for them. Using care and compassion helps develop a safe environment, putting the student at ease from the very beginning.

I had MULTIPLE sets of moms and daughters in my Beginner Handgun class yesterday. 🥹🥹🥹
Yesterday filled my heart in a way that’s hard to put into words. 🥹❤️🫶🏼
There is something incredibly special about teaching mothers and daughters together.
Watching moms intentionally invest in their daughters—not just by teaching them how to defend themselves, but by showing them they are worth protecting—is something I’ll never take for granted. And watching those daughters grow in confidence over just a few short hours is why I do what I do.
Self-defense isn’t about living in fear. It’s about living with confidence. It’s about knowing you have options. It’s about learning to trust yourself.
Yesterday wasn’t just about just learning to be safe & shoot well. It was about conversations, laughter, encouragement, and sometimes even working through emotions together. Every woman and every girl came with her own story, and each one deserved to be seen, supported, and empowered.
To every mom who chose to spend part of her weekend investing in her daughter…thank you. You are teaching her something far greater than self-defense. You’re teaching her that her safety matters, her voice matters, and she is worthy of taking up space in this world.
And to every daughter who stepped onto that range - you were brave, you worked hard, and I hope you left knowing you are stronger than you realized.
Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your journey.
My heart is so full today. ❤️

Not because I don't believe quality instruction has value—it absolutely does. I have invested thousands of dollars into my own education, certifications, instructor development, equipment, insurance, and continuing training so I can provide the safest and highest-quality experience possible.
But recently, I've been thinking about the women who aren't in my classes.
The young single mom working two jobs.
The woman going through a divorce.
The empty nester living on a fixed income.
The grandmother raising grandchildren.
The college student living on a tight budget.
The woman who knows she should learn to protect herself but simply can't justify spending hundreds of dollars on training right now.
And honestly? That bothers me.
Because personal safety shouldn't be reserved for women with disposable income.
The ability to learn how to protect yourself, develop confidence, and gain life-saving skills shouldn't be out of reach simply because the economy is difficult.
So, I've made the decision to lower the price of some of my basic classes in July.
Not because the training is worth less.
Not because the quality has changed.
Not because I'm cutting corners.
In fact, you'll receive the same professional instruction, the same supportive environment, and the same commitment to your success that I've always provided.
I'm doing it because I never want cost to be the reason a woman remains untrained.
I want the single mom.
I want the woman who has been putting this off for years.
I want the woman who is nervous, intimidated, or doesn't know where to start.
I want the woman who has convinced herself she'll "get around to it someday."
I want all of them to know there is a place for them here.
A place where questions are welcomed.
A place where beginners are encouraged.
A place where women can learn without judgment.
A place where they can become safer, more confident, and more prepared.
Every woman deserves access to quality instruction in a safe and empowering environment.
If lowering my prices helps even one more woman gain the skills and confidence to protect herself and her family, then it's the right decision.
ᴄʜᴇᴄᴋ 1ꜱᴛ ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴛ ꜰᴏʀ ʀᴇɢɪꜱᴛʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ʟɪɴᴋ.
Because at the end of the day, my mission has never been to fill seats.
My mission has always been to empower women.
And I intend to make that opportunity available to as many women as possible.
❤️ See you on the range,
Mindy Kay

Here’s the difference between 2 women. One is TRAINED & the other one is the poster on social of “oh my God this creepy guy followed me & I had to have someone in {insert store of choice}, come help.
This morning on my walk, a man passed me on an electric scooter. I was watching the whole time as he passed & made a U-turn. Remember, the “head on a swivel” all the “tactical people” talk about?
He slowed down said good morning & I responded good morning and continued walking unbothered. He continued…”do you like the weather” & I answered yep - move along - I kept walking & pepper spray was prepped & ready @ my right thigh (away from him)& I have it on a lanyard that extends. Seeing I wasn’t interested in his banter, this pi**ed him off. When I made BLATANT EYE CONTACT & turned to face him head on…his smile stopped (maybe bc he saw pepper spray) and got smart suddenly 🤓 and a more menacing look crossed his face. He 1/2 spat “nice tattoo for a b@&$h”…
Here’s where I wanted to wink & say “I’m indeed not the huckleberry you want to try today sir” but I didn’t.
& off he went.
I think it’s a nice tattoo too ☺️
Instead of afraid without options BE READY.
I had:
🔺a personal alarm
🔺pepper spray for less lethal
🔺Firearm LITERALLY at the ready loaded with 18 rounds of appropriate defensive ammunition. Just in case
he chose to make the block & try again.
Now that being said…you can simply “have the same tools as I do” the difference is THE TRAINING. If HE DOES THIS - THEN I DO THIS.
Fi****ms training.
MINDSET training.
Less lethal training. Do you know how far pepper spray reaches?
People training - MANAGING UNKNOWN CONTACTS.
Understanding the LAWS that relate to using force or deadly force.
My 🧰 for my morning walk…
Vertex F***y pack/ crossbody
Sig 365 Macro
Crossbreed modular holster
Pepper gel on an extended lanyard
Personal alarm
My DAMN 🧠 & the wherewithal to understand I AM NOT A VICTIM & NO ONE WILL GET TO ME BEFORE THE ATTACK IS OVER.
You don’t rise to the occasion—you fall to your level of preparation.
In a violent encounter, there’s no time to think, only time to act.
If you don’t have a plan, your brain will panic.
If you haven’t trained, your body will freeze.
Prepared women respond.
Unprepared women react—if they can.
Which one will you be?
www.mindykayray.com for training.

She’s a single mama @ 54 years old & knew she needed to protect herself & her family. I’m very proud of this review.
It’s tough for so many women who realize they are on their own.
No knight in shining armor to protect her.
I’m here to help you with your personal safety plan ❤️❤️❤️
