You have to have hip hinge in launch position to be able to have hip hinge during the swing.

Lack of hip hinge can cause any number of problems in the swing: arm barring, rolling over, pulling the head/front shoulder out early, a level swing, bat in the zone for a short period of time, squishing the bug
