Pu Bu — The Drop Stance (仆步)
Pu Bu (仆步), often called the Drop Stance, is one of the fundamental stances in traditional Chinese Wushu. It demands much more than simply getting low—it develops leg strength, flexibility, balance, mobility, and body control.
🔥 Key benefits of Pu Bu:
1- Builds powerful legs and strengthens the supporting leg
2- Improves hip, groin, and hamstring flexibility
3- Develops balance and stability
4- Improves movement transitions and stance control
5- Develops mobility needed for Wushu kicks and low movements
6- Teaches body alignment, control, and precision
A key technical point is to keep the heel of the extended leg on the floor and maintain the leg as straight as possible, while keeping the body controlled and stable.
Pu Bu is not just about going low—it is about controlling the low position.
Train the stance. Build the foundation. Improve the movement. 🔥
