Your greens team was hard at work this morning prepping the green for league tonight.

Come on down for lawn bowls league tonight at 6 pm. Drop-in slots available as well.

The bar will be open and we are introducing some cold treats available for sale as well tonight.

Our inaugural Lawn Bowls league starts tonight at 6:00 pm. Come on out if you have interest in joining the league.

Drop In Curling will also be available, but we likely won't have instruction available.

One more night of free bowls before league starts. Join us Monday, August 10th at 6 pm for free lawn bowls (instruction can be provided), hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixings.

Leagues start Monday August 17th.

It’s taken a day to fully digest everything we experienced during our grand opening yesterday of the Fort Wayne Lawn Bowls Club and the Fort Wayne Croquet Club. We are so thankful for the support we received from so many. The list is long, so please bear with me. We are thankful for the support and partnership of:

Yesterday, we had our supporters and partners out for an official ribbon cutting and a bit of fun on the green.

We are honored to have had people from both the lawn bowls community and the croquet community come out in support. We had:

Pam Edwards, President of Bowls USA (the national governing body of the sport)
Ed Ochs, the North American representative for Drakes Pride, a leading bowls manufacturer
Christel and Gary from the Chicago Lawn Bowls Club
Bess Gallanis, the Illinois and Indiana representative for the United States Croquet Association and member of both the Chicago and Glencoe Croquet Clubs
Rick Hayes, member of both the Chicago and Glencoe Croquet Clubs

We were then open to the public to come and learn these sports. Mayor Sharon Tucker stopped in to check out the action and WANE-TV and the Journal-Gazette came by to do some interviews.

The rain stopped about 45 mins before the ribbon cutting and stayed away until we closed things down around 7 pm. It was a day we will never forget.

We had a great grand opening yesterday (details to follow). The weather cleared for us and we had a wonderful day.

If you missed it (or were here and want to come back), we will be open from 1 pm - 3 pm today which is when it looks like the rain will stop for a while.
