FCA Club Sports…

FINS - year 5! Here we go again!!!

Last night Northeast Indiana FCA kicked off the season with the annual parent meeting, helmet sizing, FINS garage sale, practice, and laundry detergent fundraiser kickoff.

Teams are assembling, getting to know each other, and gearing up for another year of IMPACTFUL ministry. Sometimes club sports feels like one of the toughest ministries so WHY did FCA step into this space? JESUS!

“the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.” Luke 7:22

In the midst of training and competition God wants us to ‘see’ him.. He wants us to ‘walk’ worthy.. He wants us to be ‘healed’ from the wounds of the often self-serving culture of sport.. He wants us to ‘hear’ his voice rather than the noise and confusion of this world.. He wants to give us ‘new life’ and a new purpose in Christ.. He wants us to ‘GO’ and share the life-saving message of Jesus with world filled with coaches, athletes, and families who are in darkness because they haven’t surrendered their lives to Christ..

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is committed to a BIG vision - to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.

The FINS ‘Faith IN Sport’ now have club teams in 6 locations in the Great Lakes Region - Baseball (23), Softball (9), Running (1) - 32 Faith-based club teams through FCA and counting!!!

The FINS are launching in Huntington with a few faithful men and women and growing to 3 teams in Central Indiana.. why?

Because God is calling coaches to make an eternal difference in the lives of their players and families are beginning to realize the struggle of the idol that sports can become.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes began in 1954 so that professional athletes could endorse their faith in Jesus Christ “together” in fellowship with one another. Since then the ministry serves coaches and athletes in 10 different sport environments! The FINS are a club sport opportunity in the Great Lakes Region for coaches and athletes to gather around God’s word in the world of competitive youth sports.
