I Choose To Win Women who are boldly, bravely and brilliantly unleashing their God-given gifts to impact the world. In life, we win. Welcome to 'I Choose To Win!"

Our mission is to strengthen the mental wellbeing, resilience and economic position of BIPOC women and girls in the Philly area. What if a generation of women were challenged to believe in God with renewed vigor and promise? What if this generation of women believed what God – and not society – said about them? What if they looked into the mirror and were reminded of God’s love and purpose? What if they peered into their souls only to find images of light, courage, boldness and salt? What if they recognized themselves as children of God perfectly designed and properly equipped to live the life God has purposed for them? What if we have a group of women who refuse to accept ‘what is’ as the end, instead they repurposed the lessons learned from trials and turned them into stepping-stones for their promising future? What if young women determine in their hearts that they choose to win in this life?

‘What if’ has become what is!

💜 It’s your choice to decide whether it’s your time… And for these women, we thank you for inviting us into your respective journeys. 💯

Through our It’s My Time cohorts, women created space to look inward, get clear about what they wanted, make a positive life pivot, and take intentional steps toward what was next. I mean, we resigned from roles, changed careers, went back to school, picked up and moved to new cities, got new licenses/certifications, embarked upon new health journeys, started therapy, wrote books, mapped out ideas for new businesses (and LAUNCHED 🚀) and so much more because we decided it was our time! 👏🏽

It wasn’t about having everything figured out.

It was about choosing yourself.
Trusting your voice.
Taking the next step.

It was about reminding yourself that you don’t have to wait for permission to become who you’re called to be.

To every woman who said yes to herself through It’s My Time: we see you, we celebrate you, and we hope you keep choosing you. 💜

💜 A LEGACY OF “BEING”

One of the most powerful things we can give a woman is space—space to breathe, reflect, rest, reconnect with herself and simply just “BE.”

For years, our Win from Within Retreats created that space. Women stepped away from the noise and stepped into reflection, restoration, sisterhood, faith, and possibility. Some found their “space” in silence, sitting by the water, hiking, grounding in nature, carving alone time, journaling, and engaging with healing animals. While others found their space in sisterhood, being together, doing activities, laughing, reflecting and sharing stories.

But the true mark of legacy isn’t necessarily in the retreats themselves…

It’s in the AHA moments. The deep conversations. The laughter. The healing. The tears. The sisterhood and friendships and personal growth that continued long after the weekend ended.

Women came to win from within—and left carrying something new: perspective, outlook, renewal energy and courage.

The retreats may have ended, but what happened within those spaces lives on. 💜

💜 A home for Legacy-building…

When Courtney opened the doors of Our House Culture Center, she gave I Choose To Win a place to call “our home base” for much of our programming.

It was “home base” for multi-week programming such as Empowered Uth, Cultiv8 Hope, Let Her, and our one-day events such as Amplify Your Voice, Sister Circle, and more. Our House gave us a safe, welcoming, culturally relevant space to gather the women and girls we serve with ease.

Courtney is a bold, brave and brilliant woman who is winning. She is a real estate investor who chose to create a gathering place for community members to have events, come together and build one another up. She’s an owner, leader, entrepreneur, and a woman who is lifting other women—she believed in our vision and became a proud partner, supporter, and friend of our mission.

We’re grateful for your vision, Courtney, to create a community hub where meaningful work could happen—and for allowing I Choose To Win to be part of that vision. If you’ve joined us at Our House, chime in to express gratitude toward Courtney for this incredible space!

Our House became so much more than a venue. It became part of our story. And that will always be part of our legacy. 💜

💜 FROM SUPPORTER TO STEWARD…

Natalie Francis didn’t just support I Choose To Win—she lived the mission.

Her bubbly, caring and humorous presence came in many forms — first a Gala volunteer, then a donor and fundraiser, and later a participant in our Win from Within Retreats. Along the way, what started as support became connection, transformation, and eventually service.

Nat ultimately joined the ICTW team as Director of Cultiv8 Hope, helping create space for young people to explore what hope means to them and imagine what’s possible. And the timing couldn’t have been more divinely aligned. In her own words:

“ICTW was a lifeline to me when I needed it most.”

Natalie, thank you for every way you showed up—for the work, for women and girls, for our young people, and for our team. Thank you for trusting the vision enough to volunteer, give, fundraise, participate, lead, and pour back.

Through , you helped create space for young people to name their hope, share their vision, and believe in what’s possible. 🌱

The ICTW legacy will live longer because of your contributions and cultivation of hope in the hearts and minds of our youth!

Before there was an organization, there was a vision: Multigenerational leadership of women and girls.

And along the way, young women stepped in and helped us build it, becoming leaders in ways that sometimes surprised them, but not us.

Tiffany was there in the beginning—agreeing to be the face of I Choose To Win when we were still finding our footing and shaping what the program could become. She helped us tell the story before there was even an organization to tell it.

Constance helped launch the print and online I Choose To Win magazine as a writer, interviewer and idea generator. She went on to graduate and become a publicist.

And then there was our retreat test pilots —Nah, Bree, Mae —who joined us for our very first weekend retreat as we tested the curriculum, length, design, activities, and engagement. They helped us learn what worked, what needed to change, and what was possible.

Alaya became our first overnight retreat intern as a youth co-facilitator, stepping into an experience that would become part of the fabric of our programming.

Kayla introduced us to Conversations with Kayla digital social media series, and revived our digital I Choose to Win magazine.

Nyah became our first Annual Gala support intern, helping behind the scenes to bring one of our biggest moments to life.

And then followed Katie, Torra, Chennel each bringing something different, contributing to the work, and each becoming part of our story. Cydney, Zaliyah were frequently pitching in early on and through our Cultiv8 Hope initiative.

Gabby and Damoni helped us tell the “In life, I win” stories, learning interviewing skills, conducting research and video editing.

Tiffany’s journey with I Choose To Win came full circle.

She started as an intern, became a participant, and eventually stepped into entrepreneurship—starting and running a business of her own.

Now, as we close this chapter, Tiffany shares what I Choose To Win meant to her and what she’s carrying forward.

Who am I? What am I capable of? And what could be possible for me?

We’re grateful to Angela Cauley and the George Washington Carver Food Research Institute for inviting I Choose To Win to facilitate the self-discovery portion of their summer programming over the past several years.

It was an opportunity to help young people look inward, recognize their strengths, and begin connecting who they are with who they’re becoming. 🌱

And we’re giving a special shoutout to Zaliyah Emmanuel, who served as an I Choose To Win intern and helped bring the work to life behind the scenes. 💜

Some relationships don’t just support the work. They grow with it.

For all 11 years of I Choose To Win, Tracy Reed has been part of our story in one way or another.

What began through Penn State leadership development programming—inviting I Choose To Win to facilitate retreats for student leaders around “Leading With Authenticity”—grew into years of connection, collaboration, and ultimately, Tracy becoming an ICTW volunteer herself.

And then came a full-circle moment. ✨

Melonie was invited to serve as the 2023 commencement speaker for Penn State’s special First-Generation ceremony—a particularly meaningful moment as a Penn State alumna herself. That’s the beauty of a meaningful partnership.

You never know where one invitation, one introduction, or one “yes” might lead.

Tracy, thank you for opening doors, making connections, believing in the work, volunteering and continuing to show up for all 11 years. Your fingerprints are absolutely part of this legacy. 💜
