On this international day of peace, we at THE FOLD are focusing on cultivating practices that enhance our connection to PEACE. The more we touch this element of peace in our own being, the more we exude it, and just like a smile is infectious - so is PEACE!!!

The sea and I. We've been at odds, and this time, we're at evens. My body feels rested here with the sea this time. But it doesn't always thrpugh our past interactions have hurt, as well as supported.

This sit with the sea shows me the flexibility of the mind. As the sea has tried to sweep me away from life in Tsunami and pummel me into the sand in chundering waves. It has been so gentle and brushed me like a loving hand.

Sitting with the sea, it reminds me that my practice is strong, I did not grow a rigidity of mind set towards either fear or pure adoration. I hold both in respect and all the in-between.

Yoga is to build that elasticity of mind. And isnt it fun to watch it grow, the flexibility, just like we see it in the body.

Flexibility is honestly exercising the right to choose.

I hear my kids say "go touch grass" all the time, and seeing it as a way to tell someone to calm down, get some fresh air, and remember that real life exists outside of social media or video games. So when my daughter suggested we go to the beach, just to sit for the sunset, as a reset from school today. I now say we need to "go touch sand".
We all need to "go touch nature" and have "nature touch us" to bring our perspective back to why we're really here.

ERICA PAPPAS is joining THE FOLD!
"Yoga, to me, is a place to practice meeting real life with more presence, strength and connection. With a background in martial arts, I’ve always been drawn to the relationship between discipline and surrender; knowing when to hold steady, when to soften and how to remain grounded under pressure. My classes explore that balance through creative vinyasa, intentional movement, breathwork, stillness and strength building practices. Yoga isn’t about escaping the messiness of life; it’s about learning to move through it with greater awareness, resilience and a little more ease." - Erica Pappas

Look out for her on the schedule!

Farting is part of yoga, mine weren't quite loud enough to be picked up in the audio, so picked a "trending" audio to go over the video.
This series has common gas release poses with deep core muscular contraction, massaging, and squeezing the organs. Sometimes its a burp instead.

But did you know that this sequence of poses is really good for those of us who suffer from tension head aches and migraines. It's because the shoulder stand, plough, and deaf man lengthen the muscles, the occipital muscles, at the back of the neck and along the spine. The occipitals need toning just like the rest of us.

salamba sarvangasana - supported inversion
halasana - plough inversion
karnapidasana - ear pressure pose
COUNTER POSE
Matsyasana - fish variation
