Forty-eight years ago, Grand Masters John Worley and Larry Carnahan, along with their partners Pat Worley, Gary Hestilow, and Gordon Franks, set out to create a martial arts tournament unlike any other.
To distinguish their event from every other competition, they chose a truly extraordinary Grand Championship award: a genuine diamond set in a solid gold ring. Thus, the Diamond National Karate Championships was born.
Since that first tournament, the Diamond Nationals has proudly lived up to its name, awarding over 250+ Gold Diamond Rings to Grand Champions from around the world.
Each year, elite martial artists travel from across the globe to test their skills, pursue greatness, and compete for one of the most prestigious awards in sport karate. Winning a Diamond Ring is more than earning a championship title. It is becoming part of a legacy that spans nearly five decades.
