The 1,000 Islands affair lives up to its name by making significant donations to charity. This year's event raised a whopping $457,000! With the largest share ($275k) donated to Make-A-Wish of Central New York, and the remainder assisting local emergency services and hospitals.🚑🏥

Cheers to the crowd not deterred by the sweltering heat! 🙌💕

Commendable fundraising efforts by Rock The River Cincy, bringing us just shy of our goal! Contributions will heavily support the Cecil Dye Foundation 🎗️First time runner, the American Custom Marine Fountain, will be showcased at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout!

Every day brings something new at the Shootout, like the partnership between Performance Boat Center and Concept Boats, or the ambitious Beefed-Up Velocity V-Bottom Project for a worthy cause. So much excitement at every corner, all culminating next weekend with the Revenant making its debut!

Nothing captures the spirit of MTI quite like Lake of the Ozarks, our home-water & a testament to our high-performance center-console & catamaran heritage. One of the fun parts of being in this Central Missouri waterway is our MTI breakfast run, now in its second year! It’s beautiful to see a gathering of 40 boats, housing 200 proud MTI lovers. We had 20 boats signed up at the start of the week, but the perfect weather in the low 80s led us to double our participation in a matter of days. Talk about a pleasant surprise, but it just meant ordering more food! Mikey Boyle, an MTI 390X owner, joined the fun this year. He applauded the event, saying, "What an incredible family of people.” Grateful for all the MTI family members & the immense love for our brand. Soaring high over Texas, en route back to Florida, I'm reminiscent of the ongoing 38th annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri. It's a magnitude greater than when I began covering it in the mid-90s, when go-kart racing and beer were the only after-dark diversions. Fast forward and the locals have learned not to let us loose on their tracks, & the cities around the lake have evolved providing endless distractions day and night during the Shootout.

Despite missing the chaos, I'm looking forward to some downtime in Sarasota after a long travel-filled summer. Eric Colby, a familiar face from Powerboat days, will be wrapping up our coverage on speedonthewater.com. Six of the twelve pieces we've put out since Monday have been Shootout stories, a testament to the hard work of reporters J.R.Bellis, and photographers Pete Boden & Jeff Helmkamp.

The Saturday & Sunday boat race competition still awaits, and amidst the searing Missouri heat, enthusiasts demonstrated their undying passion for the sport at the Shootout On The Strip affair yesterday.

There's truly no place like home. Yet a small part of me longs to be back amidst the uproar.

Despite unforeseen circumstances threatening to capsize the seventh annual Rock The River Cincinnati Fun Run, the event still managed to make waves for a cause, raising close to $90k for the Cecil Dye Foundation. 🌊🚤

An unexpected surge in river levels forced our courageous organizers and 457+ determined participants to navigate around the challenge and continue to hold a successful event. 🙌

We are blessed with the steadfast generosity from our supporters and continuous resilience from the event team, driving us close to our lofty $100k fundraising goal. 🎯We couldn't be more humbled, thankful and excited for what's next. 💚

Down the three-quarter-mile Lake of the Ozarks Shootout course, our Factory Billet team zoomed to the finish in 16-17 seconds, hitting an awe-striking top speed of 186 mph🔥. Yet, some races, like the 220-mile Cowes-Torquay-Cowes endurance off the Isle of Wight, UK, are a marathon rather than a sprint. Last year's champs, Rob Lockyer & crew nailed it in roughly 2.5 hours🚤💪. This weekend, we see these contrasting styles clash again, with our defending champions ready to rumble🏆. Alas, I missed the Factory Billet top-speed run back in 2024, but I was there to witness Lockyer & team make magic in Cowes. This year? Lockyer, Linden, Williams & De Ferranti join forces in their V-bottom for the showdown. As they navigate the waters, I'll track their journey from MO. Caught up with the incredible Carrie Sixkiller, Hall of Famer of Bob Morgan Memorial Lake of Ozarks Shoot. Using her 525-hp Mercury Racing engine-powered 24ft Baja V-bottom, she aimed for a personal-best 73 mph on the ¾ mile course. She topped out at 70 mph, but make no mistake, this woman is a force to be reckoned with. ❤️🔥

Next weekend marks her 20th year competing at the Central Missouri event with the same 33-year-old boat—an inspiration in itself. Her goal? Encourage women to take a stand, to take the wheel. For the past 20 years, that's been her primary aim. “Winning is great, but showing women they can do anything, that's even better." 🚤🏆

The thrill of the competition, the charities and friendships over the years - it's all a part of the journey for her. “It's those butterflies you feel before a run, and the relief of powering down safe and sound." 🦋
