Happy Working Wednesday! Today we want to celebrate Sojo for reaching their 1 year anniversary of working at the Matthew's House:
"Working in shelter care has been one of the most challenging experiences of my career, but it has alos been one of the most rewarding. There are difficult days, but seeing youth and young adults begin to find stability, build confidence in themselves, and believe they have a future makes those challenges worthwhile. Being even a small part of their journey (offering support, encouragement and a safe place during a difficult time) has shown me how meaningful consistency and compassion can be. Watching them grow, recognize their own strengths, and take steps toward a brighter future is what continues to inspire me in this work."

Here is the menu for the week! Starting Tuesday, July 7, we will be implementing changes to the prices of our lunches. The changes are as follows:
An entree will be $2, a side will be $0.50, and a drink will still be $0.25. In addition to these price changes, we will also be offering a "specialty salad" daily that will be $0.50, and salad bar is available for $1.50. We will also now be making and selling PB&J sandwiches at the snack bar for $0.25.

Edit: In light of the fire bans and not being able to cook outside with fire, we will be having Pasta Salad, Ham and Cheese Finger Sandwiches, and Watermelon. Come help us celebrate America's 250th anniversary at Eastside Park in Fort Collins! We will be having a (fireless) BBQ from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM this coming Friday July 3rd. Shuttles will be leaving at 9:00 AM.

WOW! What an incredible Employment & Education Celebration we had this past Wednesday. Thank you to all of the community partners that joined us in celebrating and honoring our members who have been working or in school this past year. Also, thank you to all who helped make this event possible. Remember that you are not alone in your journey and to keep pushing forward! Always...you are wanted, needed, and expected.

Today is the day!! Our Employment & Education celebration is happening today from 5-7:30pm at the Fort Collins Senior Center. We hope to see you there as we celebrate our members who have been working or in school over the last year.
Our building hours are 9am-3:30pm, then we will be going to the Senior Center to set up.
We could use any and all help with the preparation work today and at the event tonight. If you are willing and able please stop by :)

Tomorrow is the big day! Friendly reminder that our hours for Wednesday, June 24 have shifted to accommodate our E&E Celebration. The building will open at 9am with shuttles leaving at this time. Our morning huddle to organize the work of the day will be at 10am.

We will be extending our work-ordered day this Friday, June 26 to be talking about our Supported Education program. Please come with your ideas to make our program more developed and geared towards your needs! We will also have an ice cream bar during our conversation. We hope to see you there :)
