28 people showed up to build trail on June 19th, including volunteers, Trail Committee Members, OMBA Staff, and FCNA Staff, and the energy was exactly what this work is about. First-timers got a tour of the rock work from the week before, then everyone broke into groups to tackle corner reconstruction, drainage, tread work, borrow pits, and vegetation management

We even worked some big natural rock structures into an alternative line alongside the existing tread, which was a really cool addition to the profile.

The stoke was high all night, and hot dogs from Brave New Wheel made for the perfect way to close it out.

We finished through segment 2 of the trails plan before heading into summer hiatus, and we could not be more proud of what this crew built. See you in September!

Big news for riders on both sides of the state line.

The Belvoir Ranch Open Space trail network officially opens next week. 20+ miles of new hiking and biking trails just west of Cheyenne, WY. The ribbon cutting is Wednesday, July 1 at 5:30 PM at the Belvoir Ranch trailhead. After that, it’s open dawn to dusk, every day.

This is a milestone years in the making, and the long game is even better: once access across the Union Pacific Railroad right of way is secured, Belvoir is planned to connect directly to the Red Mountain Open Space trail network in Larimer County, linking Wyoming to Colorado on trail.

Class 1 e-bikes and mobility devices are welcome. No horses or motorized vehicles.

Access via I-80 West to Exit 342 (Harriman Road), then 3 miles south to Old Quarry Road. Full trail map and details at cheyennecity.org/belvoir.

This is exactly what regional trail connectivity looks like. See you out there. 🤙
