This father had to have modeled incredible examples of what a loving and caring person does.

You’re not crying. I’m crying. 😭

The results of good parenting, common moments like this. We don’t always know we’re doing well. We don’t always know if what we say, or do lands on the ears or hearts of our kids.

But every now and then we get a glimpse.

This is not good news, Flower Mound!

Please check your kids screen times. Please do not parent from my position of convenience.

Your kids futures literally depend on this.

If all we focus on is the results, we typically get paralysis by analysis.

But if we focus on the effort, the results will come naturally!

If you’re searching for perfection that typically breeds hesitation and anxiety.

But consistent progress builds and inspires advancement.

Oh, we try to do is attempt and work towards being better today than we were yesterday!

Gentle parenting has turned into permissive parenting. And permissive parenting produces kids like this.

Teen takeovers on the surface is a parenting problem. But even deeper than that, it’s an identity problem.

If we’re all here by accident. There’s no purpose for us. Why should we be upset? How can we expect a transcendent based behavior from accidents?

Two other moms out there you guys are amazing!

You can totally hear the fatigue and exhaustion in her voice.

Mom’s and dad’s here is a couple tips and encouragements for you.

1. Establish hard video and Screen Time schedules. Non-negotiable. Things that have to be done before Screen Time is allowed. It is going to be hell for the first week. But if you hold your guns and hold the line, you will take back control of the situation and your kids will know what leadership looks like.

2. Summertime often ruins routines, and the kids that you have been working on developing and the things that you’ve been working on cultivating can typically get lost when a routine is completely let go. So establish a concrete bedtime and a concrete get up time. Not negotiable. Hold the line.

3. and lastly, let your kids be bored. They don’t have to be entertained and continuously stimulated every day. Break out a pen or a pencil and a piece of paper and see if they’re bored they can draw. If they don’t wanna do that, they can read a book. If they don’t wanna do that, they can go outside for a bike ride. They’re going to complain and whine, but let them. Just look at them in the eye, and tell them that you love them and you’re in the middle of something and to let you know when they have figured out what they’re going to do.

It is vital that you don’t parent from a position of convenience in this case. It’s going to be extremely intentional. And if you do that right, you’ll be surprised at how well your kids adapt.

To all the moms out there working and juggling your kids this summer, you are superheroes. You can do this.

Unlike the thinking we see from out current culture, kids need to be pushed!

Beyond their comfort zones.
Beyond convenience.

Parents who know this help them. But parents…

You have to push yourself.
You have be willing to go past your comfort zones so your kids can learn from you!

You want resilient kids? Be resilient!

Be resilient in your:
Work
Health
Marriage
Relationship with God!

Kids learn from you first.
Do you like what happening in our culture?
It starts with you. The parent!

Most parents say they want tough kids — until life actually gets tough.

Intentional parenting isn’t about making the road easier. It’s about making your kid stronger for the road ahead.

Our culture has traded accountability for blame. And our kids are paying for it.

That ends with us.
