As the only Patagonia retailer here and a proud 1% for the Planet participant, we donate 1% of sales to local conservation. Mountain Sports was founded on a love of skiing and adventuring in the outdoors. Brothers Mark and Bruce Lamberson started the company in 1973 and in 1980 expanded to Flagstaff. The tradition of a family owned and operated business is still alive and well as Mark and his daughter work side by side with our active team to share our enthusiasm for playing outside. Like you, we live and love the casual, local lifestyle. We pride ourselves in offering exceptional, helpful, hometown customer service. At Mountain Sports, the vibe is always warm and welcoming. We are not only an outdoor shop; we are a gathering spot in the heart of downtown. We open our doors as a community space for locals and travelers alike. We use our retail shop to celebrate to our friends and neighbors and their involvement and all things fun and Flagstaff. Through our membership in 1% For the Planet, we grant one percent of our sales to help fund local environmental and conservation projects. Thus far, we’ve granted more than $160,000 in the Flagstaff community. In 2013, Mountain Sports celebrates its 40th year in business. For all of us who enjoy the local lifestyle, the adventure has just begun.

We are so excited to announce that we are hosting Flagstaff Dark Skies Coalition for our September’s First Friday Art Walk!💫

Join us for this inspiring event celebrating our incredible night skies and the importance of protecting them! Flagstaff Dark Skies Coalition will be talking about the importance of lighting options in our small city to keep our skies dark at night, and the stars fully visible!

Flagstaff, Arizona, was just named Dark Sky Place of the Year by DarkSky International. This award comes as FDSC wraps up its own 25th anniversary, but it belongs to all of our residents and community leaders who do their part in ways large and small to keep the Milky Way visible where we live—even when that place has a population of more than 75,000.🌌

FDSC envisions a world in which everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status, can see the Milky Way in a dark sky that is cherished by their community and beneficial for all life.

This event is free and open to all, so bring your curiosity, questions, and love for our night sky! We cannot wait to see you there! ✨
