We have taken skagit tactics, once the exclusive domain of salmon and steelhead, and expanded them into trout, bass, and more. Well at least the trout spey fishing has been stellar!

We have a full lineup of rods, lines and sink tips that are tailor-made for , on both single hand and rods in appropriate sizes. The season will only get better as things cool and the weather hopefully gets a little wetter. For now, watch those water temps. Remember, once the H2O temps hit the 60’s, it might be time for bass!

The getting is still pretty good for the trout spey scene! So long as there’s cool water, we have been able to find fish. Watch those water temps, and stick to dawn patrols when the weather spikes. With the lack of summer steelhead opportunities the trout Spey scene has been a savior!

With all the unfortunate steelhead closures this season, we have been taking a step back from those fish and concentrating on another love of ours, trout spey! We have been having a blast with our 3wt, 4wt and 5wt rods all over the place, enjoying the “little things” and being surprised by what we DO find.

We are at a crossroads with summer steelhead on the West Coast. While we should NEVER abandon our efforts to recover those fish, we do think that that can be a frustrating endeavor that requires a place to take a break from all the closures and armchair fisheries managers. We let Trout Spey be that place!

Ok folks…..it’s time for a contribution for !!!

As you all know, Spokane Washington was the recent victim of a horrific wildfire that tragically took 700-some homes and forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of people. The time and money that it will take to heal this community from such a thing cannot be underestimated.

Our Ops Manager is putting a bunch of his awesome Muddlers and Hobo variants up for auction! Top bidder wins a dozen Hobo’s and half a dozen Muddlers, as well as a couple surprise flies thrown in for good measure! This will be a great summer steelhead fly collection for anywhere those fish swim, from the Grand Ronde and Clearwater to the Rogue. Bidding starts at $100, and ends at 1PM on 8/12/26!

Once the winning bid is announced, we’ll provide that person with the link to donate, and send the flies. Remember, this was a horrific and tragic event, and our fellow Wash*tonians could use some pull-together right about now. Bid away!
