The holidays bring such a warm & cozy time to spend with friends & families.

There's more to do...and more to eat!

Trader Joes rolls out their Christmas treats.
Starbucks rolls out their holiday menu.
There's more baked goods going around.

It can be hard to find balance with enjoying these food but not overeating.

We'll tend to justify our overeating by saying things like:

"It's that time of the year..."
"I deserve to relax after this year..."
"I just want to enjoy it and not worry about it..."

But what if those thoughts and justification don't actually help you.

Sure, they give you permission to indulge and overeat in the moment.

But they're not getting you closer to what you really want.

What you really want is to be someone who can eat balanced.

Someone who can enjoy the holidays *and still* be balanced with nutrition & stay active.

Those sneaky thoughts aren't really helping you. And being aware of them will help you to not overeat during the holidays.

Being able to stay balance year round is a skill.

It's a skill we teach those who enroll in the Best Shape Of Your Life Challenge.

Along with workouts to complete, being consistent & having the accountability...one of the biggest benefits of participating in the Challenge is that you learn how to develop this skill.

The skill of balance throughout any life circumstance.

And that skill is what will ultimately keep you in shape year round...even those the Challenge is over.

๐Ÿ’ฅDon't miss your ๐Ÿ’ฅ
Doesn't always have to be fancy, sometimes it's just about moving your body and getting your heart rate up.

Side note: 2.5 years ago...I couldn't hold my own bodyweight from a bar....let alone pullups. My #1 goal was to run my first and I felt like I wouldn't be able to do a good bulk of the upper body obstacles if I didn't get pullups down...so I worked for MONTHSSSS on them and then one day I decided to try them without the assistance from a band and voila....I busted out 3.

It takes time to reach your goals, but if you stick with it....imagine how far you can go! I NEVER thought I'd be where I am today....and I'm so far from perfect...constantly learning, growing, being humbled by new challenges..but I can't tell you how worth it, it has been.

Happy FRIDAY guys! Stay committed to your goals, you never know how far it will take you ๐Ÿ’ช

Part 3:3 Shoulder Mobility

A few of my favorite resistance band shoulder mobility warm ups.

The shoulder is a really complex joint that is required to complete any upper body movements. Too little or too much stability within the joint can limit your range of motion and/or potentially cause injuries so make sure to take time before your workout to stretch and strengthen those muscles!

This leg day hit a little different โœŒ๏ธ

Always good to mix up the routine, try some different things, and have fun with it.

I personally get bored super easily so adding a little ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ keeps me from getting burned out. Not to mention, our bodies are super resilient and adaptive...so doing the same s**t all the time limits your growth and development as an athlete so..

MIX IT UP ๐Ÿ’ƒ
