Shane Westmoreland Take First FARM Mad Dawg Win
Curfew Cuts Short FARM Race Series Finals after Rain Delay
What a day at the FARM….the heat, humid and even the rain couldn’t stop the running of the Wilkins Racing Engines presented by YOUKER Motorsports Mad Dawg 4.50 Dawgpalooza from getting in the books. At the 12 o clock midnight hour first time Mad Dawg finalist Shane Westmoreland of Oak Ridge, NC squared off with Waynesboro, VA’s J.P. Miller in an all Chevrolet Beretta finals. Second generation drag racer Westmoreland used a .0004 reaction time off the start and run a 4.52 ET at 147 MPH to pick up his first ever Mad Dawg and Farmington Dragway victory. Miller in his “Skull Crusher” Chevy Beretta had to settle for second with a 4.61 ET at 137 MPH run. The win by Shane has now moved him into first place of the Mad Dawg Championship points battle with the Choice Tire & Automotive Mad Dawg Finals September 12th. The “TOP 10” dawgs all have a mathematical chance at winning the 2026 title.
Roger Campbell of Norwood, NC brought first Siler tuned 1964 Ford Falcon home to great semi-finals finish along with “the Entertainer” Tim Siler of Maiden, NC in his 1953 Studebaker. Siler’s semi-finals performance moved him into second of the points with one race to go.
2022 Mad Dawg Champion Chevy”Hollywood” Floyd of Lexington, NC drove his Scarlette’s Performance 1963 Chevy Corvette to the Garry”Hooter” Hoots #1 qualifying spot with a 4.4987 ET at 156 MPH time.
Once again “ Mr Burnout” Tim Siler in his flamed Studebaker and Tommy “Lenco” Hurley in his Classic Chevrolet Chevelle picked up the James”MF”Bunton Memorial Burnout King Awards during qualifying. Taking the special Chris & James Leonard “Package Awards was J.P Miller for Best Winning, and Kenize Whitley for Best Losing, during round one of eliminations Saturday. Those cash awards will be giving out at the Dawg Finals September 12th.

In the FARM Race Series action Saturday, the 12 o’clock curfew cut short several final rounds. The money was split among the remaining drivers and coin flipped for the trailer checks. In TOP Eliminator we got down to three remaining drivers that included Steven Morrison of Statesville, NC, Ryan Mason of Mooresville, NC and David Spaugh of Advance, NC all in Dragsters.
Foot Brake saw an all MOPAR finals set up between Walketown, NC’s “Pawn & Gun” Man Joe Tilley in his Plymouth Duster and the “Darth Vader” Dodge Dart of Walnut Cove, NC’s Mike Howell. On the charge Justin Holston in his Chevy Nova from Rural Retreat, VA was the semi-finalist.
In the JR Dragster division a red hot Jaxon Phillips of East Bend, NC and Waylon Coffey of Blowing Rock, NC made up the JR finals for the split. Jaxon Edwards was the lone semi-finalist.
Again the curfew go the finals in Street as veteran Bob Goss of Advance, NC and young gun Jeremiah Bostic of Woodleaf, NC were the finalist. Kannapolis, NC’s Addison Honeycutt was the lone semi-finalist.
The other finals completed along the Mad Dawgs were the TEEN division. Taking her first FARM Teen class win was Alyxandrea Mize of Sophia, NC defeating current points leader Mason Smith of Providence, NC for the win. Emma Koch of Winston-Salem, NC and Hunter Alexander of Mocksville, NC were semi-finalist.
The next FARM Points Series race will be Saturday & Sunday, August 29-30, the Jerry & Norman LEGENDS of the FARM weekend.
Next Mad Dawg 4.50 race will be Saturday, September 12th, the Choice Tire & Automotive MAD DAWG FINAL to crown the champion!
