🛟 Become a Certified Lifeguard This Fall!
Ready to gain the skills and confidence to save lives? The Perinton Aquatic Center is offering the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course this October. This comprehensive training prepares participants to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies, making it a great opportunity for teens, young adults, and anyone interested in working in aquatics or strengthening their water safety skills.
Course Details:
• Ages: 15+
• Dates: Friday-Sunday, October 9-11
• Time: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM (3 full-day sessions)
• Location: Perinton Community Center (PCC)
• Fee: Res $180 / Non-Res $190

Prerequisite Requirements Participants must successfully complete the American Red Cross lifeguarding prerequisites, including:
• 150-yard swim using front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both
• 2 minutes of treading water using legs only
• 50-yard swim using front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both
• Timed rescue event completed in 1 minute, 40 seconds: Swim 20 yards, surface dive to retrieve a 10-pound object, swim 20 yards on your back while holding the object at the surface, exit the pool without using a ladder.
Train with certified American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructors and earn a nationally recognized certification that can open doors to employment opportunities while helping keep our community safe.
