🥋 🔥 Instructor Highlight: ERIK STEVENS 🔥

Behind every great dojo are instructors who pour their time, knowledge, and heart into the next generation of warriors ⚔️

Erik is a 5th degree black belt 🥋 and one of the incredible instructors who helps make Mountaineer Elite what it is today🏆

Erik has been practicing karate since he was 7 years old and now has dedicated 14 years to teaching the art he grew up loving ❤️

What makes Erik special isn’t just the experience he brings to the mat, but also the way he connects with his students.

He brings the perfect mix of fun & seriousness to class. He knows when it’s time to work, when it’s time to push, and when it’s time to laugh. And his commitment to our students doesn’t end when class does. Erik enjoys getting together with the students outside of the dojo to have some fun as well 🎉

When he’s not at the dojo, Erik spends his time being a foster Dad, attending Whitehall Church of Christ, and of course, following his favorite football 🏈 teams!

🚨 BIG NEWS FOR THE MOUNTAIN STATE OPEN! 🚨
We are beyond thrilled to announce that the 2nd Annual Mountain State Open Karate Tournament (taking place on October 17, 2026) is now an Official ICO USA Team Qualifying Tournament! 🇺🇸🥋
This means competitors stepping onto the mat will have the incredible opportunity to earn their spot and qualify for the 2027 ICO Team USA!
We couldn't be more excited to host this level of competition right here in West Virginia and give our talented athletes a shot at representing the United States on the international stage
