WarYoga is a path of ancient Indo-European meta-physical culture rooted in the Vedas, Avesta and European Epics and philosophy.

WarYoga offers a way to transcendence through the internalisation of the sacrifice and waging of the inner Holy War.

London Part Two: got to hang out with an OG of steel mace and true artisan Shaun who I have known since almost the very beginning of the WarYoga project. Shaun has made some of the coolest strength tools you’ve ever seen.

Visited the Commando Temple Gym where I got to swing mil and lift sang with Ben Savin and lift stones with Ben Max Waters of Temple Stone Club London - Ben and Ben are doing some amazing things at the Temple and are an absolute blast to hang out with.

Hit the pads and had a catch up with my good friend Craig Orchard at Fight City Gym - Craig and I have worked together in the past to bring unique workshops to the UK - he is the man behind Indian Clubs Official

The Bulgarian Bag is a superb tool for grapplers. It not only works your grips, but also rotational and closed kinetic chain movement. It is a crossover tool that has multiple applications as it can be swung in a circular pattern as well as used for triple extension through snatches and cleans.

Its multipurpose nature makes it ideal for a limited equipment home training set up.

There is no other tool used like the samtola. The main swinging technique is unique in that it utilises a spine in flexion under load, but in a ballistic manner. The dynamic nature of the exercise makes the spine have to move from a straightened position to a bent one with velocity, bouncing back up to the straight spine from a fully curved one. It is a grappler’s tool that strengthens the posterior chain through the twisted positions of the sport.

Pankrátion was practiced by Ancient Greek combat athletes for over a thousand years. It was sophisticated and artful is equal measure to its violent nature. There is plentiful evidence that the knee on back position was a particularly valued place to be as it allowed for strong cranks and chokes.

One-handed gada swings are used to prepare the shoulders and spine for Jori swings in Varanasi. Likewise, they are a great way to warm up the upper body before any other form of exercise. A light gada should be used and contact with the shoulder should be maintained for most of the swing. This ensures that there is not too much strain on the joint and that there is not a strong impact on the collar bone when bringing the gada back down the front of the body. The one handed gada swing is not considered an exercise in its own right unlike the one arm mace swing in the West. It is always a warm up for other exercises.

The haltêres were used for isometric exercises as well as dynamic. The Ancient Greeks and Romans placed more emphasis on isometric than we do today. Here are a few ways that you can use the haltêres isometrically.
