We are proud to announce that on August 6, 2026, Professor Mikael Meyer was elevated to the rank of 10th-Degree Black Belt (Soke) in Concord, New Hampshire. Achieving one of martial arts' highest honors, he has spent 3 decades carrying forward the legacy of his mentor, Grandmaster Steve DeMasco, through his guidance and development of generations of SDSS students. This milestone underscores his unwavering commitment to sustaining the values and teachings of the SDSS tradition, ensuring they endure for future generations. Just a reminder that we are holding a special class at our Westport location on Saturday, September 5th — there will be NO classes at our Fairfield location that day!

Congratulations Mr. Nicholas for reaching his Zhongi Belt! Not only is he an excellent martial artist, but Nicholas also is also a part of our Teen Leadership Development Program, helping in our kids classes and camps. He has worked hard both in and out of the dojo, and we couldn’t be more proud of him for this accomplishment!

Happy first day of school to all of our Fairfield families! Let’s rock this school year together!

And just like that, our Summer Camps are a wrap for this year! We had a blast hanging out with the kids and giving them an intro into Kung-Fu, and as we enter back to school season we can’t wait to see them back in our classes!
