Keep your head turned and watch the ball until contact is over. Not until the ball bounces on your side, not until you start your swing, not even until the ball is about to touch your strings - until the hit is done.
Most players think they’re watching the ball, but they’re actually pulling their head up seconds too early. That early peek is enough to throw off your shoulders, your racket face, and your accuracy.
The fix: stay in that head-turned position a beat longer than feels natural. Let the ball leave your strings before your eyes move. It’ll feel like you’re watching nothing — you’re actually watching everything that matters.
Do this on every ball in warmup until it’s automatic.
Try it in your next rally and notice how much more center-strings contact you get.
