We have been fortunate enough to receive several emails similar to this, but this particular one hit home. Nothing is worse than ordering a new rod and finding a cardboard rod tube split in half on your front porch.
Buying a new fishing rod should be an enjoyable experience, not a stressful one. This is why we don't settle for "industry standard". Our 40+ years of combined experience shipping thousands of rods have led us to a shipping process that we believe is the gold standard for delivering your rod in perfect condition.
This involves spending the extra money to ship in PVC, instead of a cardboard tube. We've seen them all and it doesn't matter how thick the cardboard is, they all break going down a high speed conveyor at a 90 degree turn. Using PVC is a substantial expense for us, one that we maintain as a free upgrade, but it is worth the cost to give our customers peace of mind. Do rods ever get broken in PVC? Yes, every once in a while, but the breakage rate is much, much lower.........we are talking a substantial difference.
But it doesn't just stop at the PVC. Making sure the rod is properly packaged and secured is an art. Each new employee is trained in what we call "going to packing school". We make sure the process is the same no matter who packs your rod. It is our commitment to our customers to always do things the right way, not just the cheap way. This is an easy decision for us to make because we truly care. Of course, on the rare chance you do receive a damaged product, we will do everything we can to make it right. This is our passion, and we are fortunate enough to say that it is a passion that we are able to share with our customers.
