Beginning NEXT Friday, Sept. 4, Fort Rucker has two great ways to honor and remember the sacrifices of those that gave their lives on Sept. 11., 2001.

25 years later… we will never forget.

Friday, Sept. 4 is the annual stair climb where many Fort Rucker firefighters climb with full gear at Bldg. 5700, the Soldier Service Center. The climb will cover 110 flights of stairs throughout the building beginning at 0846 to represents the steps climbed by FDNY 25 years ago beginning at the time the first aircraft hit the North Tower. This is not a timed event but spouses and family members are invited to participate on their own as well.

Friday, Sept 11 is tthe annual moving tribute beginning at Fire Station 1 ( Andrew’s ave and Lucky Star Street) at 0830. This will be a walking tribute around the installation returning to the station by 0940. Spouses, family members and the community are welcome to attend and walk in honor !
