Join Gerard Ridings for a two hour Yoga Nidra workshop, in which you will learn about and experience the practice of Yoga Nidra. What is Yoga Nidra? “Yoga” means “union” or “one pointed awareness,” and “Nidra” means “sleep,” therefore Yoga Nidra is a state of dynamic sleep. It is expanded awareness while in a state of deep relaxation!

We will discover the “Subtle Body,” or “Pranic Body” as we learn about the nervous system, and the science of down regulating it. Topics include Ayurvedic Asana, Receptivity, Pranayama, Interoception, Somatic Awareness, the Motory/Sensory homunculus, and more.

As we understand the concepts and science of “down regulation” asana practice will begin. The physical practice of a 15-20 minute slow flow will prepare our bodies and minds to receive the Yoga Nidra experience.

Why practice Yoga Nidra? The pressures and stresses of modern society can make it challenging to experience true relaxation. Our attention gets pulled from one direction to the next. Stresses and anxieties build up. Our vitality and energy gets drained. Our body and mind fall out of balance and symptoms of “Dis-Ease” begin to manifest. Yoga Nidra is a very powerful tool to find “self-regulation.” To essentially “hack” the nervous system with intention and breath!

Come join us for this experience of Deep Relaxation. This workshop is open to all levels. Be sure to wear comfortable yoga attire and bring your yoga mat! Additional suggested props include pillows or rolled blankets (to use under the head and/or in support of the lower back and legs during Nidra)

In honor of World Mental Health Day, and for an evening of sound healing designed to nourish your nervous system. Through the soothing vibrations of Himalayan singing bowls and other therapeutic instruments, you will be invited to slow down, soften, and simply receive.

In a world that often asks us to do more, this class is an invitation to pause. As you settle into stillness, allow the healing sounds to support deep relaxation, ease tension, and create space for reflection, restoration, and renewal.

As part of our evening, you’ll also be guided through the ritual of making your own moon water—an intentional practice of setting an intention, connecting with the energy of the moon, and creating a meaningful reminder to carry the experience of the evening home with you.

Whether you are seeking a moment of peace, feeling emotionally drained, or simply looking to reconnect with yourself, this immersive experience offers a gentle reminder that caring for your mental well-being begins with giving yourself permission to rest.
