Riona will be the first to tell you she never planned on this: "I was positive for a long time that I would never get my Black Belt. I never wanted to." What changed things wasn't a plan. It was showing up. "I feel happier knowing I am capable to handle whatever hurdles life has to offer."

She's earned her first degree black belt this year. Come hear the whole story at our Grand Opening, plus a ribbon cutting, laser tag, and cake to celebrate 25 years.

Perseverance isn't about not getting tired. It's about knowing tired doesn't mean stop.

That's the whole idea behind a black belt at Integrity Martial Arts — and Madelin can prove it. She started at six years old, and seven years in, this is how she describes what she's learned: "I know not to quit just because I am tired or uncomfortable. Instead, I keep going until I have truly reached my limit."

She's earned her first degree black belt this year, and she'll share her story at our Grand Opening. There's a ribbon cutting, a demo team performance, two rounds of laser tag, lunch, and cake too.

When you work hard, try, keep showing up, fail, work hard, try, keep showing up, fail, work hard, keep showing up, try, fail again and again, you really start to understand the value of grit and perseverance.

We could not be prouder of these three new black belts in our school, who earned this belt with literal blood, sweat, and tears.

The most rewarding thing about coaching?
It’s not the clean technique or the well-executed belt test. It’s the moment a student realizes they’re capable of something they were completely convinced they couldn’t do.
That moment doesn’t happen all at once. It’s built one class at a time, one small challenge at a time. That’s why we celebrate progress just as much as achievement — because those small wins are where the real transformation happens. 👏
