Chip. 9 times out of 10.
Flop is sexy. Chip pays the bills
Why?
Lowest risk, highest make rate. One hop, roll like a putt.
No perfect lie needed.
Flop needs perfect lie. And 💯 confidence and commitment.
Chip miss = 15 ft past. Flop miss = chunked in bunker or bladed over the green. 😖

Pro stat: Average up-and-down from 20 yards:
Chip: 68%
Flop: 32%

Even pros chip unless they HAVE to flop.

I finally found a 3 wood that gives me the confidence to hit off the deck without worrying about chunking it or thinning it. It came down to 2 clubs. The Paradym 3 wood and the Taylormade Qi35 3 wood. I like the shallower face with the CG low/back which launches off the turf even when you catch it thin. What’s your favorite 3 wood? This hole was paying out $10,000 for a hole-in-one! I hit a perfect draw and landed a few feet away. Almost thought I made it in! So close but yet so far 😖😭
