Player Spotlight: ᦓꪻꫀꪶꪶꪖ

Stella is a sophomore who has some really sound skills to her game! As a middle, it’s has been fun to watch her execute the ball, put up a block, and she also has a very aggressive serve that puts some serious pressure on the other side! We love her competitive attitude and the aggressive nature to her playing style! She’s continuing to learn and grow in her game, and we’ve enjoyed seeing her compete throughout the season so far! We’re excited to keep watching her develop the skills she already has and see where she can take them!!

Player Spotlight: kassidy Kenning

Kassidy is a senior who has developed very well throughout her volleyball career! This year especially, she has really come to life at the net and is an exciting piece of our offense and defense. She’s learned and executed new techniques and skills, and you can see her confidence growing with every match! And then there are the shoes. 😂 Kassidy has been loyal to the same volleyball shoes since freshman year, and those things have been THROUGH it. The insoles are shredded, the shoelaces refuse to stay tied, but she remains committed! At this point, we’re not sure if she owns the shoes or the shoes own her! 😂👟 Much like her dedication to those shoes, Kassidy has shown incredible dedication to this team throughout her career. We’ve loved watching her grow into the player she is today and are so excited to see her continue making an impact in her senior season!

Player Spotlight:

Ann is a freshman who has grown up with volleyball, making her way through the EC youth program and now stepping onto the high school court. It’s been fun to see her class come full circle at their next step in their volleyball careers as high schoolers! Ann is an athlete who strives to better her game day by day. She’s willing to put in the extra reps outside of practice, and that dedication is already showing! She’s tall, has a strong swing off the middle, and continues to get better and more confident every day she’s in the gym. We love that she listens for feedback from coaches and translates it into her play to continue developing. We’re so excited to watch Ann continue to put in the work, build her confidence, and see just how far she can take her game over the next four years!

Player Spotlight: Kyra Hubbard

Kyra is a senior who is very invested in this program and has made the most of every opportunity to grow this season! She’s someone who comes to the gym ready to get better, while also looking for ways to help the girls around her get better too. She can be one of our quieter girls, but she definitely has a silly side that we’ve loved getting to know too. We’ve loved watching her confidence grow, seeing her put a little power behind her serve, and watching her step in and do a great job whenever she steps on the court. Now... it wouldn’t be a post about Kyra if we didn’t mention the “Kyra Cut” 💪🏼🏐 At this point, it may officially go down in Elm Creek Volleyball history! It’s the infamous attack that Kyra does, that will cut across the net so quick! We can look at just about any player during a match.. say “the Kyra Cut is open,” and they know EXACTLY what we mean and exactly where that ball needs to go. It’s become one of those little things that makes our team ours thanks to Kyra! We absolutely love having her as part of this team and are so glad we get one more season with her!

Player Spotlight: Vera Hodges

Vera is a sophomore who has as a way of making an impact every time she steps on the court! She brings steady passes, smart plays, and a quiet ability to put the ball away when she gets the opportunity! She doesn’t need to make a lot of noise to make a difference, she just goes about her job and gets it done. 👏 Vera has also grown into a great leader on the JV court, where she makes a difference not only with her play, but by helping those around her. She’s dependable, consistent, and someone we’ve really enjoyed watching develop!! Her ability to quietly step up and make plays has earned her opportunities with varsity as well, and we’re excited to see her continue to grow and grow!
