day one of founder immersion at star hill.

we get students cutting timber right out of the gate.

we start with knee braces. they give students a chance to work through layout, reference faces, power tools, hand tools and chiseling techniques before moving into the frame itself.

by the end of day one, the knee braces are done and we've worked through a square rule layout demonstration.

tomorrow they start laying out and cutting their first timbers.

chips will be flying.

start the path. start building.
