Happy 4th of July!
Big Guy Scuba – Daily Spring Visibility Report
Our team checked conditions at several local springs today. Here is the latest update:
P1
The basin remains brown/tannic.
Water inside the cave is expected to remain clear.
Orange Grove
Surface visibility is approximately 10 feet.
Visibility should improve significantly below approximately 40 feet.
Telford
The main basin is brown and tannic.
Water level is above the rock bridge.
The small opening appeared noticeably clearer than the main basin.
Royal Spring
Conditions have improved, and visibility appears to be getting better.
We were unable to enter the spring due to an active emergency response. Emergency personnel were on scene, including fire, law enforcement, and EMS. Out of respect for those involved, we have no additional information regarding the incident.
Little River
The park closed at 6:00 PM before we arrived, so we were unable to assess conditions.
We have heard reports that the basin may be tannic, but we have not been able to verify those reports firsthand.
Troy Spring
Closed due to unsafe conditions.
Ruth Spring
Conditions continue to look good.
As always, conditions can change quickly depending on rainfall and water levels. If you’re planning a dive, please use good judgment, dive within your training and experience, and feel free to contact Big Guy Scuba if you have any questions about current conditions or upcoming dives.
Dive safe!

🌊 I Want to Dive Strong Currents… but I need the right skills first.
Strong currents can transform an ordinary dive into an unforgettable experience… or a stressful one if you’re not properly trained.
Drift diving demands much more than simply “going with the flow.” It requires:
✔️ Drift Procedures
✔️ Team Positioning
✔️ Gas Consumption Management
✔️ Surface Deployment Techniques
✔️ DSMB Procedures
✔️ Navigation Skills
✔️ Entry & Exit Strategies
The difference between feeling overwhelmed and feeling in control is training.
🔺 IANTD Drift Diver gives you the knowledge, confidence, and practical experience to safely enjoy some of the most exciting dive sites in the world—from oceanic channels to legendary drift dives filled with sharks, mantas, and pelagic life.
Don’t avoid the current. Learn how to dive it.
