Balance matters long after you step off the yoga mat.

It’s there when you step off a curb, navigate uneven ground, climb stairs, reach for something, change direction quickly—or catch yourself when you stumble.

And balance isn’t the job of one body part. Your feet, legs, hips, core, breath, and deeper stabilizing muscles all contribute to your ability to stay steady and respond to change.

Yoga for Strength, Balance, & Ease brings those pieces together in a two-hour experiential workshop with Lucy Lomax, helping you develop strength and stability while preserving freedom and ease in your movement.

Try this during your next yoga practice:
Instead of asking, “Am I doing the pose correctly?” ask, “Where am I actually working?”
Are your muscles actively supporting you? Are you relying on the joints? Are you gripping somewhere that doesn’t need to work at all?

The shape we see from the outside only tells us so much. Learning to feel how you’re creating that shape can help you develop strength, improve support around the joints, and make movement more efficient.

That kind of body awareness is a big part of Yoga for Strength, Balance, & Ease with Lucy Lomax.

Can yoga really build strength? Yes—but how you practice matters.

Holding a pose longer creates a different demand on your muscles. Repetition can build endurance. And learning to intentionally engage muscles rather than simply making the shape of a pose can completely change the work your body is doing.

That’s part of what we’ll explore in Yoga for Strength, Balance, & Ease: how to access strength within familiar yoga poses while also supporting the joints and avoiding unnecessary strain.

This isn’t about making yoga harder. It’s about learning to use your body more effectively.

Many people come to yoga hoping to become more flexible—but flexibility is only part of what helps us move well.

Our joints also need strength and stability. When the muscles surrounding them can support and control movement, we can often find greater balance, confidence, and ease—not by forcing ourselves deeper into a pose, but by learning how to use the body more efficiently.

Join me for "Yoga for Strength, Balance, & Ease", a practical, experiential workshop exploring how longer holds, repetition, intentional muscle engagement, alignment, balancing poses, and breath can work together to build strength while supporting healthy joint movement.

The goal isn’t simply to work harder. It’s to understand how strength can help you move with more freedom and steadiness both on and off the mat.

There are yoga classes...
…and then there are workshops where you leave understanding your body in an entirely new way.

If you've ever wondered:
• Why do my knees ache after walking?
• Why do I keep locking my knees?
• Why does one knee hurt but not the other?
• What should I actually be doing to protect my knees?

This workshop was designed to answer those questions.

Expect practical education, thoughtful movement, plenty of opportunities to ask questions, and techniques you'll continue using long after the workshop ends.

Suitable for all levels, whether you're managing discomfort, hoping to prevent future issues, or simply wanting a healthier, more sustainable yoga practice.

Quick question...
When you stand, where is your weight?

Your heels?
Your toes?
The inside edges of your feet?
One foot more than the other?

Most of us have no idea.

Yet those tiny habits influence how force travels through the ankles, knees, hips, and spine every single day.

One of the things students love most about Lucy's workshops is discovering the small adjustments that create surprisingly noticeable changes in comfort and stability.

Sometimes the biggest improvements begin with the smallest shifts.

"I've stopped doing certain things because my knees hurt."

The truth is, avoiding movement isn't always the answer.
Very often, the answer is learning how to move differently.

During this workshop, you'll explore safe ways to bend, straighten, balance, and load the knees without creating unnecessary stress. You'll learn why hyperextension matters, how proper tracking protects the joint, and how building balanced strength can restore confidence in movement.

The goal isn't to do more.
It's to move smarter.

One of the biggest misconceptions about knee pain?

That you should simply "strengthen your knees."
Your knees don't have muscles.

They rely on the muscles above and below them to do their job.

In this workshop, we'll explore how the quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, hips, ankles, and even the arches of your feet all influence knee stability. Understanding why these relationships matter often changes the way students approach movement forever.

This workshop is especially valuable for yoga teachers, movement professionals, and curious students who enjoy learning the anatomy behind healthy movement—not just practicing poses.

Have you ever noticed that some people seem to stay active well into their 70s and 80s while others begin avoiding stairs, long walks, or even getting down on the floor?

It's not always about age.

More often, it's about how well the body has learned to distribute force through the feet, legs, hips, and core. Healthy knees depend on a team effort—not just the knee joint itself.

In this experiential workshop, Lucy Lomax will show you how simple changes in alignment and muscle engagement can make everyday movement feel more supported and less stressful on your knees.

Whether you're hoping to keep hiking, walking your dog, traveling comfortably, or simply getting up from the floor with confidence, stronger movement patterns can make all the difference.
