Tuesday Conversations with Stone Medicine

Aragonite: Returning to Center

The Earth Element is associated with grounding, balance, and the gradual process of creating order from what feels scattered.
Within Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Spleen Meridian is traditionally linked with transformation and transportation—concepts that can inspire reflection on how we process nourishment, responsibilities, and daily experiences.

Aragonite is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate mineral known for its distinctive crystal formations. In stone medicine and contemporary crystal traditions, it is often appreciated as a symbol of structure, patience, and grounded awareness. Its value in a personal practice may come from the attention and intention it helps us bring to the present moment.

Centering practice with Aragonite
Place Aragonite on a nearby surface while you sit comfortably. Feel both feet supported by the floor and allow your breathing to become unhurried.
Ask yourself:
• What is receiving too much of my attention?
• What can be simplified today?
• Which small action would help me feel more organized or settled?
Select one manageable action rather than attempting to resolve everything at once.

Affirmation:
I return to center through simplicity, patience, and steady attention.

Monday Healing Tip: Stomach Meridian & ST36

Endurance and Vitality

When exhaustion feels like a constant shadow, your body may be asking you to engage the "Command Point" of the digestive system.

Stomach 36 (ST36), known as Zu San Li or "Leg Three Miles," is arguably one of the most revered points in acupuncture. Located about four finger-widths below the kneecap on the outer shin, this point is a powerhouse for restoring energy and soothing the entire digestive tract. Stimulating ST36—either through gentle acupressure or professional acupuncture—helps tonify Qi and Blood, making it an essential tool for anyone feeling the midday slump. Try applying firm, circular pressure here for two minutes on each side to revitalize your system.

Funny Friday: A Yoga Teacher’s Guide to the Seasonal Shift

The new season has arrived—and apparently, so has a surprise advanced yoga practice:

Tree Pose: searching for the missing keys
Warrior II: facing the family calendar
Forward Fold: looking under the couch for school supplies
Savasana: recovering from the morning routine

When the schedule feels overwhelming, return to the basics: place both feet on the floor, soften your shoulders, and take one steady breath.

You do not have to organize the entire season in a single day. Sometimes the most grounded practice is accepting that someone will forget their water bottle—and choosing compassion anyway.
Reflection: Where could you replace urgency with one conscious breath today?
