After prostate surgery, Chris Houghtling turned to Infinity to help him confidently return to riding. Here’s his experience with the Infinity Saddle:
"Let me start by saying I am no pro rider, not even CAT 1, 2, 3, or even 4. However, I have been riding for the past 15 plus years either on a mountain bike or for the past 8 primarily on the road. I have used several saddles that I thought were comfortable and believed they were as good as it gets. I ride centuries, ATI (Around the island as we refer to them in Hawaii) and other long rides on a regular basis. I have raced 12- & 24-hour MTB races as well.
I heard about the Infinity Saddle after I had my prostate removed this year and was very concerned about the impacts of riding as total healing can take up to two years post-surgery and any improper impacts on the perineal area could impede the healing process. So, with that in mind I started looking for a saddle that would be rideable 6 months post-surgery and allow me to not have negative effects on my full recovery.
Before I even took my first set up spin on the saddle I was talking to my urologist who was definitely urging me to wait on the riding until the 6-month mark.
When I brought up the infinity saddle, I was surprised to hear him say, “Oh I know that saddle, if you're going to use that you can start riding now.” (now was 5 months post-surgery).
I was surprised as I didn’t think he was a cyclist, and I was correct, he had discussed the saddle and its benefits during a urology conference with other doctors.
I am so grateful I found this company and this saddle it has made a world of difference for me and allowed me to go back to cycling with confidence that I will be able to completely heal without any negative impacts from being back on the bike.
Thank you, Infinity Saddles, for making the ride even more enjoyable!"
