When she was terrified, he picked up the phone every time. Now that she's safe, she wants him in prison.

That's the real story buried in Anthony Fauci's diary, and it's not the one Katie and Stephen Miller are telling right now.

Katie Miller — once Pence's comms director, now a MAGA podcast host — has spent this week demanding Fauci be jailed, blaming him for "decades of harm to children." Stephen Miller went after him on Fox. Both attacked him the same day Fauci sat before the Senate and took the Fifth.

But rewind to May 9, 2020. Katie had just tested positive for COVID, ten weeks pregnant with her first child. Fauci's diary shows he was calling her a couple of times a day to check on her. One night she had an anxiety spiral; he calmed her down over the phone. That wasn't a one-time thing — earlier that spring he'd written that "Katie Miller is great, tough, smart, but great." When Stephen got COVID that fall, Fauci counseled him too. When Katie flew to Texas to see her parents, Fauci called her at the Houston airport, then again after she landed. When their newborn had a medical episode, Fauci called the baby's doctors himself. By New Year's Eve, he was still writing that he was on the phone with both of them "frequently."

Here's the part that got buried: Rand Paul released the full diary to damage Fauci. Once the Miller entries surfaced, his office quietly redacted them. NOTUS caught the difference: Katie's name went from 56 mentions to 37.

Her explanation has changed three times since. First, he was just a colleague. Then, she was managing him strategically. By Thursday, anyone who keeps a diary is a narcissist.

She's also asked reporters to leave her child's medical history out of it. That's a reasonable ask. It just wasn't Fauci who put it on the record.
